I’ve leveled/crowned both single and compound radius necks. I haven’t noticed a difference.

I haven’t noticed a difference. The difference would only be if using a set-radius beam/block to do the work. As I see it the approach is to take a little material as necessary off the offending fret/frets only. I imagine using a flat beam one "could" grind the frets out of radius. I would view this as a task requiring a high level of awareness about what I am doing.

High awareness is key.
As with most anything.
I don’t do any fretboard work, so I don’t have any radius tools.

And I should add that a consistent comment from customers is how well the guitars I sell play.

Compound radius is a funny thing. I have 2, one 25.5 scale neck and another a Gibson conversion Warmoth. I get along with the latter but have had some issues with the 25.5 scale one. There may be more variables to my perception (nut width, profile and fret size). I've decided to restring that problem neck as a pseudo baritone (B-B).
As to leveling, I've done a number of my necks using a flat/non-radiused beam with no problems. I bought a number of various radius blocks from Stew Mac but have never attempted to use them for fret leveling. Between their short length and trying to figure out how to affix an abrasive to them effectively, I'm just not comfortable going down that road.

Leveling beams work fine. Yeah, you can mess up the radius if you're REALLY trying, but if you're careful then you won't make an appreciable difference over the life of the frets.
What I like to with radius blocks and the like is to put a layer of blue tape on first; that way, whether you're using sticky-back paper or spray adhesive, your block won't be messy.
