This has been a goal of mine to find guitars I'm satisfied with for the long run. I'm 74 so I don't know how much longer the run will last. And it may have to do with your age. When I was younger I seemed to be always searching. And, there were a lot of guitars I wanted to try out.
Right now, I have 4 electrics, 0 AEs. I've tried several AE's only to find I can't seem to bond with the bigger body. I started out with a thinline electric and that's what I've alway preferred.
I think I'm satisfied. I don't play out anymore so they scratch my itch for tones.
How about you?

The reflex to look is still there, but quite honestly I have more guitars and availability of sounds than I need. I've become a bit infatuated with Telecasters lately, perhaps reverting to my first passion. I have 3, all partscasters but have a hankering to build another. I wish I had kept my first Tele, a blonde early 70s. I'm pretty meat and potatoes with guitar lust. For me a Tele, Strat, Les Paul and 335 is what should hang from my wall.

I am very happy with the guitars I have. I definitely have way more than I need at this point but that doesn't stop the GAS pains. I have at least one of each of most of the common guitars and manufacturers, but don't have a baritone or any Gretsch models. I wouldn't mind adding to my acoustic selection but I have 4 already so I don't really NEED one. I don't have anything with P90's on it and would like to scratch that itch. I would also like a pedal steel but that's another learning curve and expense I don't need.
I forgot. I don't have a PRS either.
At last count I had 17 guitars. They are stashed all over the house in closets and under beds. I used to consider myself a recording guitarist so I needed to have access to a bunch of different sounds. I don't do that much recording anymore but still do occasionally and it's nice to be able just got get whatever I need and use it on a track. I just have to remember where I put it. I play most of them on rotation. I play one until the strings are dead then put it away and go get a different one and do the same. Once every two or three years I spend all day cleaning, restringing, and adjusting guitars to get them all back up to recording condition. It's that time again and I'm not looking forward to it. The last two that had good strings on them are out now and they need attention.
At least my amp selection is manageable. 2 combo amps and 4 small cabinets. No more stacks for me. The Ox Box has many different IR speaker cabinet emulations so I can get close enough to that sound for me. Then there's the Eleven Rack modeler. It has far more amp and cabinet combination possibilities than I will ever use.

Oh what the hell, I'm sitting here and am bored. I have:
Epiphone ES-335 Pro (rarely play, neck way too skinny) Yamaha parlor acoustic Mary Kaye type Strat partscaster Highly modified Jazz Bass Harley Benton 51 style P bass Tele thinline partscaster Greenburst Strat partscaster 2 TSB Strat partscaster (my fave) 50s Trib Goldtop LP w/P90s Danelectro 12 string Highly modified Squire Strat strung B-B for pseudo baritone Strat partscaster with 2 HB's and Warmoth Gibson scale 3+3 headstock Gretsch 5420 in Caddy green Relic partscaster Tele now sorta/kinda configd as a 66 replica Sonic Blue Strat partscaster strung half step down Tele partscaster with Catalpa body done in shellac and flamed roasted maple neck Martin D17M acoustic
Somewhere in the closet is a cheap mandolin and lap steel Amps are:
Early 80's Princeton Reverb II with a Emi Legend G128 that I got from a cool guy here😎 Fender Pro Jr that I modified with a new transformer and GWS Veteran VHT Special 6 head Egnater cab that I loaded with a Celestion Blue
Plus a pedalboard with a ton of pedals I almost never use.
If I had the motivation I'd off all the amps and cab and get a Vintage Sound 15.

I have somewhere over a dozen. I play two with regularity (95% or more of my playing time), and then another 2 that get 3% or so, and the other dozen get < 2%)
I have three basses, I only really play my Bass VI any more (99.9% of the time)
When I got my "perfect for me" 2016 Les Paul HP (With the wide fretboard and Axcess joint and all sorts of non-vintage appointments), I loved it so much I got a second as expensive as it was.
Since then I've only bought a LP Jr DC (a bucket list guitar that came in a bucketlist color, a happy dark blue) - but haven't bought another in...almost seven years.
I look at new ones occasionally, but go "why?"
Mostly it's recording gear and occasional effects boxes these days.

Yes I am satisfied with my guitars but I would like to try a SG junior, so I am still searching.
Always have been a home player, until recent years, living in a regional town. No one in my circle of aquaintance shared my interest in music, and the two music shops in town rarely had a fender strat or tele or a Gibson in stock, mainly budget priced copies. So if I wanted to try a guitar I had to buy it.
This has led to a habit of a lifetime of looking for guitars, which I continue to do.
But these days it is only variants as such as unusual colours or unusual style of guitar which catch my attention.

SRV strat, Gibson ThePaul II, Aria Pro II TA60 (335 copy), 1966 Harmony BobKat.
Gibson J35, Martin Backpacker, Yamaha 12-string (A/E)
Gretsch short-scale bass. Am I missing a dobro? Maybe....

Dobro! I knew something was missing. It might not be a bad move considering trigger finger seems to be becoming a permanent thing on my left ring finger. I've already noticed me executing notes that belong to that digit with my pinky.

I always told myself that when my fingers no longer cooperated due to age and arthritis I would learn to play pedal steel. I could sell 2 or 3 guitars and buy a real nice pedal steel. I have a couple lap steels but am not all that inspired to learn how to play them well. If I need them for something I can muster a track together but I am by no means good on them. I am much better at slide guitar having done that occasionally my whole life.

I think I would have to have a small body like the Gibson Blues King but I've never played one and I don't have the dough right now. And now I must add...thinking about searching for a strat. I've had several in the past but only bonded with an 83 American toploader many years ago. It is long since gone. I'm mainly a Tele player and I love my Vintera II Nocaster Tele. I'm wondering if I would like a Vintera II Strat...50's, 60's or 70's. Too many choices.

Maybe a hardtail Strat if you're comfortable with a Tele.
As far as acoustic electrics, I've only owned an Ovation many years ago. My little Yamaha parlor does have a simple end pin jack, so I guess it qualifies. I never cared for the look of most AE's and prefer tossing a mic in front than the plugged in sound.

I've only owned one hardtail Strat in the 70s and every trem equipped one I've tried decking/blocking didn't stay that way. All my Strats wobble and with the exception of one are vintage style trems. One partscaster (the one with dual humbuckers) is a Player body with the newer trem 2 post setup and I have to admit, it's a smarter design.

Yes, very satisfied. In 1963 we were putting a band together and our guitar player had this nice sunburst 345 Gibson. I picked it up and strummed a couple of chords on it and thought it had the greatest neck (for my hands) of any guitar I’d played. A few weeks later he showed up with a new cherry finished 345 and said he had traded the old one in. Move ahead to around 1988 and I’m playing a Holiday Inn gig and a customer starts telling me about this guitar he owns and, by his description, I recognize it to be that sunburst 345. He was a salesman at a local car dealer and, a few weeks later, I was buying a pickup truck with him as my sales person and he offers to sell the guitar to me. After owning a couple of 335’s, always looking for the neck of that original Gibson, there was no way I could pass up owning the guitar that started me on my quest. I’ve owned this 1959 ES345 ever since.

Ok, give me an example of a hardtail Strat…American?
Now, even if I don’t buy another guitar I’m satisfied with the ones I have.
But, darned if GAS doesn’t get me sometimes.

Since I’ve been afflicted with Dupuytren's contracture it’s been lap steel for me, electric and resonator along with instruments with GDAE tuning and a capo - chords only.
Once treated I’ll be happy to play any of my guitars - 11 in cases in cupboards/closets. No need to replace any of them.
Also looking forward to playing my violins and play tunes on the GDAE instruments.
I envy anyone who can play the most basic cowboy chords at the moment - ring finger is permanently at a 90 degree angle.
Enjoy your guitars.

I feel you, sir - my hands have always been so damn big that anything short of a 30" scale Bass VI most cowboy chords aren't hittable for me. It's why I developed..my..style. I'm not sure anyone else COULD play it.

Very Satisfied! I have more than I really need. I have been through so many in the last 5 years that I have sold. Kept the ones that mean something to me. I no longer even look. Don’t want the temptation if that were even posible.

My wife had dupuytren’s contracture where her ring finger was at a 45° angle compared to the other fingers being held straight out. She had a simple out-patient surgery that totally resolved her problem. It isn’t a hopeless situation.

Just waiting until it’s my time to attended to. That’s why the guitars are in closets and not on eBay.

Like Eric, I've been terminally unsatisfied for most of my adult life. My last purchase was a few years ago, an Ibanez Artcore AS93, and I don't foresee buying any more. I look sometimes but, with 8 electrics and two acoustics, I can't find anything that's different from what I have already.
