I checked current prices on some of the orders we placed late last year, for Christmas gifts. Almost every single item is cheaper now, in some cases, quite a bit cheaper. In at least one case, $50 cheaper! At the time I purchased that particular item, "Honey" notified me that it was the best deal at that time. And, maybe it was....who knows?
I think I'll be doing a lot less shopping at Amazon towards the end of this year. Or, start shopping now for next Christmas...?

Got any you can send back for a refund? And then reorder?

That’s the only way with Amazon. If it’s within 30 days, initiate a return and order a new one. If you already used the product, send the new one back on the old receipt.

It's their end-of-holidays-beginning-of-new-year-sale.

No idea. Personally. I avoid Amazon like the plague. Not a fan.

I’ve been following an item they went up like 33% since I last bought one. I need another, but was hoping the price would fall first.
It’s been the same since December 1.

(Actually, I haven't had all that much luck with it.) I think you can set it to notify you when the price drops, but I haven't actually tried that.

I’ll have to look into Honey, I’ve used it in the past for coupons but I didn’t know they had a price drop feature. I physically cannot buy things at full price in most instances, but this one is $12 more than it was in April and it’s annoying me.

And they are certainly not always the best deal on stuff. If I can find product elsewhere, I buy it elsewhere. Amazon is my merchant of last resort.

If I get busted for this, I'll claim I was simply complying with the legal advice of my attorney.

That’s fine, probably the least crazy thing I’ll say this week.

Just wondering. IMO, if that were true, they wouldn't be as successful as they are. I agree that their prices aren't always the best. Usually, the alternative is running around shopping for the same item. We ordered a shirt the wrong size, a Christmas present, and didn't realize until Christmas that it was way too big. So, about two months after ordering it, I contacted the seller and explained that we ordered the wrong size. Instead of having to send it back, they just refunded our money. So I ordered another one, the right size. Two nice guitar shirts for the price of one.

I like Amazon and have never had trouble with them. Their customer service has been great to me. The key is to start off being nice when requesting help. After that, they will go out of their way to solve the problem.

So, about two months after ordering it, I contacted the seller and explained that we ordered the wrong size. Instead of having to send it back, they just refunded our money. So I ordered another one, the right size. Two nice guitar shirts for the price of one. Again...it may be because of our rural locale. We don't have physical mail (postal) delivery around here. We do however get UPS delivery at some times of year (snowy mountain roads being a major challenge for those large brown trucks). So when we order, we always ask for it to be sent to our post office box. Sometimes they comply, other times they say no way they'll ship to a PO box. Then you give them a UPS address (which is significantly different than the postal address), and lo-and-behold it gets shipped via US Postal Service (or UPS SurePost--which is actually delivered to post offices) and then is undeliverable because of the drastically different addresses. Their people don't know the difference between US Postal delivery, UPS delivery and UPS Surepost (or FedEx SmartPost) delivery. And thus stuff floats around for a few weeks, doesn't get delivered and then you wind up having to argue with them. They think everybody lives in areas with paved roads, sidewalks, curbs, fire hydrants, etc. Not what most of New Mexico and many other rural areas of the country are about. So we avoid them very deliberately. Other on-line merchants will actually talk to you (mostly) and make specific arrangements for the specific type of delivery needed. It's called customer service. And Amazon (not to be confused with their participating merchants--who are often very deliberate and good), doesn't really work deliberately for the end customer (in our experience). Part of the mix when you live in the boonies. But I wouldn't trade it for the life of convenience, no way.
In addition, I recall Amazon stiffing Chris on the FDP somewhere in the last year when Chris was trying to comply with their structure of sponsorship for the FDP. I recall it being a very challenging situation for Chris/the FDP that ultimately had the FDP losing much of its sponsorship funds. Subsequently many on the FDP decided to boycott Amazon at that point. While ours is not an out-and-out boycott, we (again) do our best to find other merchants who are more willing to flex with the details of the delivery challenges in our off-the-beaten path environs.

Everything on sale? No. Just the stuff I dont want. Isn't that what Prime Day is? Their attempt to just clear out merchandise nobody wanted?

A quote from the past...
I for this very reason use Amazon as a last choice.

K4, as one who is not on an “off-the-beaten-path” environ, I have to say Amazon is usually my first choice. If I can find what I want cheaper I’ll choose that. For the most part I’ll choose Amazon.
I am sorry for your Amazon problems. (No, I don’t work for Amazon)

For those that don't know, camelcamelcamel.com is a great way to track pricing. You can drop in the url and it will show you historical prices and you can figure out if it is a good deal or not. You can even setup an account, share your want list. You set a desired price and it will email you when it hits that target price. A totally free service and I find it quite useful.
