Not sure if a thread has been restarted so here goes.
A few months ago I started running again partly to help with weight and overall health but mostly because I forgot how much I enjoyed competing. In high school I ram cross country and middle distance in track. My main event was the 800m and my PR dating back to 1980 was 1:57.4.
Have started training for road races beginning with 5K and progress to half marathon. Who knows I might even attempt a marathon one day.
At this time I’m training with Brooks Ghost 12’s. So far they are a good overall training shoe for distance and interval runs.
Anyway that’s enough chitchat.
What you got going on?

1:57.4 800m is pretty danged impressive. Good to see that you're back at it.
I used to do quite a bit of trail and beach running to help stay in shape for the sports I played, mostly basketball and racquetball. I did also enjoy the running.
My right knee doesn't like running anymore so I stick to mountain biking. I did play in a softball league last summer and got around the bases and in the outfield pretty well. I'll probably give it another try this summer.

I'm a walker. Running is harder on the body, at least my body. So I walk and hike (at a walking pace). I also cycle when the weather is temperate.

I still love running, but no longer do the daily 4-10 mile routes of the days of yore. I'm usually running only cross-country in the greenbelts of south Austin, 40 to 60 minutes, and only do that a couple of times a week. Once or twice a week I'll do a quick 2-miler flat course next to a gym I belong to, or will spend 30 minutes on the Open Stride apparatus. Two to three times a week I also go on hour-long hikes with Molly and Stella the dogs.
I've retired from the fun runs. Typical with anything in Austin, they got very popular, and turned into mosh pits.
I'm lovin' my New Balance 880s. Still using 1/4-inch heel lift insert on left foot to keep Mr. Insertional Achilles Tendonitis at bay.

Oh, and today it was the hike with Molly and Stella, and my first run of the year....that 2-miler. Gorgeous weather. Sunny....temps in the 40s this morning.

Running is out, old injury compliments of a drunk driver. My wife and I do some walking/hiking. A bike sounds pretty good though. But I will prolly pass on the biking shorts.
