More classic "underground" FM from the 1960's, 1969 It's a Beautiful Day, 2 radio hits off their classic LP white became hard to find for some years:
The whole LP is wonderful.

Discovered by the Everly Brothers while they were playing a hotel gig in Canada (where this band originated). The EBs recommended to the people who were managing Blood, Sweat & Tears at the time. They played gigs in NYC and L.A. and recorded a couple of LPs in around '67-'68, then pretty much disappeared. I can hear influences from Hendrix, Cream and the Stones here and there. Lyrics are less inane than those of many of their contemporaries. All in all, I'd rate them as above average for the time:

Har! That's *much* better. I switched the feed from my laptop rig into my main system. I think I may have killed two old ladies in my neighborhood.

^^ Maybe -- but this is MA. They really like to make everything "another senseless act of gun violence". The local pols here have a new slogan -- I you didn't die from gun violence, you ain't dead.

Spinning David Johansen's (remember the New York Dolls and Buster Poindexter?) "Here Comes the Night" that I bought in the early 80's when we were still celebrating the death of disco. Still sounds great -- take that vinylphobes.

Utterly reeks of mid-1960s, does it not?
New to me, this group almost makes me think mashup of Blood, Sweat and Tears and early Mothers of Invention (minus the absurdist lyrics). Pretty musically sophisticated and tight for the times (1971) and genre:

Roscoe Holcomb - an Untamed Sense of Control I found the CD unopened while cleaning out and moving some furniture around. No idea where it came from or how long I've had it.
All 26 tracks are too much to take so I ripped the best of them to add to my digital music collection

Beautiful. Hazel was extremely popular in her time and had a fascinating career, butvis largely forgotten today. There's an excellent doc on her on youtube, I think it's whatever happened to Hazel Scott.
