Their Satanic Majesties Request....Rolling Stones
When album artwork and notes were almost as important as the LP itself. Yes, the 3D cover still works.

Spinning this afternoon a record I bought around the time it was released -- Return To Forever's "Romantic Warrior". Corea, Di Meola, Stanley Clarke, and the great Lenny White on the skins -- what's not to like?

The Pogues. Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash. One can only hope that these are bands and not personal proclivities...

Most think Flogging Molly hails from the Emerald Isle but they're from LA.
A fine cd, a great song.
And here's one for you Dr. Who fans.

Now spinning on vinyl, Alligator label: I loved Lonnie Mack. I saw him once maybe a dozen years ago -- maybe more, but damn, I can't remember where. I've got one of his CDs with SRV -- I'll have to find it. Thanks for the reminder. RIP Lonnie.

More Trane from "Giant Steps" -- Tommy Flanagan on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, Art Taylor on drums. Just amazing.

Yep. Got that one as well. Saw him play live in ˋ75, a very entertaining evening.
Another gem from record collecting days:

MoJoe -- I'm ashamed to say that I have never even heard of many of the artists you have been posting. I'm interested in your story. If you don't mind sharing -- where and when did you grow up that you were exposed to these artists?

I haven't heard most of what's been posted here!!
I'm 57 and grew up in mostly rural Pittsburgh, PA.
