Listening to the most recent Cornershop album. Grey(?) vinyl. I was following them long before Brimful of Asha. Saw them a few years ago at a Celtic Connections adjacent gig. They can rock.

OK, hang me out to dry, but I love Abba. You do you, man. Abba is not my taste but I'm sure we all have bands or records that we only listen to when the windows are closed and the curtains are drawn. I rescued a pile of records from my mom's collection this past week -- I'm spinning this right now.

That’s a great song . Now searching for my CD of The Tourists - Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart in their pre-Eurythmics band. You won’t be surprised to hear that I caught them live in Aberdeen in the early eighties.

Not anything to do with spinning but Annie Lennox is the Chancellor of my daughter’s university. She congratulated my daughter and ‘bestowed’ her degree at graduation.
I was there. I’m not a stalker.
It was at least 35 years since Aberdeen.
Edited to add that my daughter said that she was really nice and sincere.

Original vinyl, I'd vote the solo guitar work in this among the top 100 hair raising solos ever: (Note, NWS album cover photo).

I was aware of this record but never owned a copy. It was just released under the Tone Poet project so I jumped on it. This is easily my favorite to date.

Vintage vinyl, Santana Moonflower, Europa now spinning. A jaw dropping performance to say the least. I've performed several times live, it always brings the house down:

Ok, are we ready for this guys? I highly doubt it.....What hath I brung to the party? A 50 cent cutout I got as a kid back in 1970, a Timothy Leary album! (I went to one of his "recitals" once, titled The Migration Of The Koala Bear, he was tripping for sure!). Got him to sign the album. Anyhow this has the following folks on it. Check out the personal roster: Jimi Hendrix – bass guitar Buddy Miles – drums John Sebastian – guitar Stephen Stills – guitar I love this album!!! It is available rereleased on CD.

I haven't listened to this record for at least fifteen years. It's not that I don't like the music -- I've just heard every song about a million times on the radio. It surfaced today and I was curious how well it has held up. I bought this some time in the late 70s -- there were a few crackles but no scratches. The sound quality is way better than I remembered. It was a treat. Take care of those records, lads.

The YouTube is from SNL.

Clifford Brown. A lot of people crap on these EU represses -- not me. I think they sound pretty good and in most cases it's the only way to get this music on physical media without spending a fortune.
