On line schooling has been a total failure according to the $$$$$$uperintendent of the LAUSD. First problem they were faced with: The kids that need education the most, at the bottom of the economic stack, did not have access to a computer and/or internet service at home. LAUSD had to figure out how to find and distribute laptops and internet service to low income districts. Parents of kids that happen to be able to work had to scramble to figure out what to do with kids suddenly thrust back home as schools close. For some kids the only hot meal they received each day was at school, so LAUSD had to stumble and fumble to try to find a way to feed the kids. LAUSD is the largest school district in the US.

My mom is a long retired LAUSD teacher and just loves her retirement benefits. As a special ed teacher, I have no idea how she would have been able to do her job in the current environment. My wife is on the other side; gifted and talented, but 1st grade. It’s still challenging when she’s taught 22 years the old way and then one day they change everything.
