I only play medium scale basses these days and am somewhat interested in an AEB to mess around with. Not looking to spend high end prices at this point.
Fender CB60. I liked the neck. Construction seemed ok for the price. Not very loud, but that's not a primary concern.
Fender BG31s and T Buckets. Both out of production AFAIK. I've never played either, but Ed Friedland was relatively complimentary about the T Bucket. I will assume that the necks feel similar to the CB60 until informed otherwise.
Ibanez (it might have been an AEB10, but I'm not sure) seemed well built and sounded ok, but the neck felt too big.
Breedlove Passport. They seem to have a good reputation but I've never seen one in person. I'm under the impression that the bodies are fairly large.
Your opinions about any of these and other suggestions, please.

I’ve never had the opportunity to try a wide selection of these in the same place. I tried the Taylor and they had an Ibanez PNB14E even if the Taylor was at the same price I would have selected the Ibanez, it maybe a shorter scale than you’d like at 24.75” I have no problem with scale lengths. I play 20” to 34” occasionally 40+”
I like the acoustic tone of the Ibanez PNB14E both acoustic and it’s onboard transducers. It’s all laminate body and still puts out more volume than my mid 80s Guild B-50 fretless, which is awkwardly large for a lap instrument, sounds great though, I’ve only recently put transducers in the B-50.
The Ibanez PNB14E at $250.00 is an instrument that does what I want/need and sounds good. Easily replaceable, I don’t worry about it like I do the Guild.

I played an Ibanez bass in a store and it was very nice!
