Never have. What's yer experience? I have never ordered from them but my Son in Law has bought a Gibson Acoustic at Sam's in Dallas and other stuff and said they are better than GC.

I have a couple of guitars from them. 👍👍 👍is 👌. Do you know if they ship from store availability or from a central point? I know GC just finds a store that has stock and tells them to ship.

I’m the Fonz. Aaaaeeeeeeeeee 👍 I don’t remember where mine shipped from. They were NOS Gibson Fadeds. I don’t think that they had even been out of the box.

My experience has been you get a new guitar in the box, they have always appeared to be untouched. They aren’t pulling it off the wall and shipping it. At least not in my experience.

I used to be a big Sam Ash fan, but haven't ordered anything online from them. Used to be a great company to do business with, don't know that anything has changed.

No direct experience, but when I've sent customers back asking them to contact the original seller on something, they seemed to have okay luck with basic servicing after a sale. That is more than can be said for some other big sellers. I don't remember the exact circumstances, but it was something pretty basic each time. The stories of extraordinary service I hear are usually locals, mom & pops, or Sweetwater.

I've never had an issue with them but typically migrate toward Sweetwater.

"How's that?"
I ordered a guitar during a sale, paid for it, waited and waited (+/- 6 wks as I recall) and they finally got back to me saying there were none left. That's no way to treat a customer.

Sounds to me like a computer issue. Not that it makes it excusable. Where the REAL test of customer service is what happens after that. Bad example: "No more guitars... no, you can't have a refund on your deposit, store credit" all the way up to amazing example: "Let us find something for you and make a killer deal on it to compensate." with things in between such as a sincere "so sorry, here's a full refund" and "take my card, let me hook you up next time you need something and I'll make it up to you". So... how did they do on that part?

It was at least 10 yrs ago so I don't recall exactly but... it was just a brush off. I got my $ back but there were no niceties exchanged. The non-transaction left me with a bad taste that has lingered this long so that tells you something.

I equate Sam Ash with American Musical Supply, Musician's Friend and, to a lesser extent, Guitar Center. Generally, you get good service and prompt shipping.
However, Sweetwater is truly a cut above because they inspect any guitar over $299 with a 55 point checkup so you are sure to get a guitar with zero issues.

Agreed, Sweetwater is a cut above the rest. In addition to the 55 point inspection nearly every item comes with a free 2 year warranty where you can send it back to them if there is a problem.

American Musical Supply, Musician's Friend and, to a lesser extent, Guitar Center. Which if I remember correctly, are all part of the same company.
