I’m told some are having problems quoting. Please note the following:
1) Clicking quote defaults you to BBCode, and the quote shows up in code. Your reply has to be below everything that appears in the reply box, otherwise you will merge your reply and the quote.
2) If you want it easier, click the tab to switch from BBCode to Preview mode. That makes the quote appear in its own little box as it does on the screen. Then you can just put your reply in the empty field below the box.
EDIT: You can also choose which mode you want to be your default.
Profile > Edit Profile > Settings > Posting Default
Happy quoting!

FYI, in responding to this message and all that I've responded to with using the quote function, it does NOT default to BBCode. The default that I'm seeing is Preview mode.

Interesting, mine defaults to code. I’m on a phone, are you using a computer? Do you get the same default on your phone?

I rarely use my phone for anything but phone calls and texts so I just checked and yes, on my phone (iphone SE), it indeed defaults to BBCode!

Figured it out. You can set it in your profile.
Profile > Edit Profile > Settings > Posting Default
There you can select whether your default will be BBCode or Preview.

Figured it out. You can set it in your profile. Profile > Edit Profile > Settings > Posting Default There you can select whether your default will be BBCode or Preview. On my phone, it only allows BBCode for quoting a post. No option to change it.

On my phone, it only allows BBCode for quoting a post. No option to change it. That option doesn’t exist in your Edit Profile page as noted above? I switched my default and now it’s Preview. On an iPhone 7+. EDIT: I was in Desktop mode, where it can be switched. In Mobile mode, it’s BBCode only.

I keep the site on mobile mode on the phone. I see that if I switched to desktop, it would allow the switch. But I won't be posting from my phone very often in any event.

Thanks for tip on switching to desktop. I use iPhone XS 100% of the time.

Most of the mod tools and the admin tools are not available in mobile mode, which has made me rely on desktop mode most of the time, even though I’m on my phone. In any event, at least now we all know the options.

Interesting, mine defaults to code. I’m on a phone, are you using a computer? Do you get the same default on your phone? I am seeing BBCode tab highlighted in light gray meaning it is selected. And thank you Mike. I was having issues and now it is doing ok. Note: the first couple times I posted a quote reply It was posting both the quote and my reply post together just as if they were both typed at the same time and not as a quote so what I did then was edit and move my text down a few lines to differentiate the two. In last few days things show in a quote as you said and I click below the quote box to reply
