I'm using Lynx Hilo (had this for about 10 yrs now, it's my main convertor to record and master).

So you guys are just mixing down and not mastering your tracks?

I don't have any high end converters. If I ever need a collection of songs mastered I'll have someone do it who is a lot more experienced than me and has the appropriate gear.

I'm a hobbyist so my mixdown to final product is all self contained within my Pro Tools 10 environment. I have a mastering template I order up and then tweak accordingly. I record 24/44.1 typically via my Avid Eleven Rack. My master buss will commonly have a couple of instances of e.q., compression, Tape, stereo widener (sometimes), dithering. I generally don't print effects or processing to individual tracks so these will likely have something on them. I buss out verb and delay and eq that with a template curved to simulate Abbey Road's reverb. So said the man on YouTube.
I know just enough to be dangerous but not cause any harm to myself or bystanders.

Bandlab is a decent free alternative.
