It's extremely rare that I return or exchange a gift that someone has given me. I did get a jacket from my BIL that was waaayyy too small (he bought a child's XL, not adult XL). That's the only thing I can think of.
I have many things that my wife has gotten me that either don't quite fit exactly right or aren't exactly what I wanted, but I keep and use them anyway. I have a Hawkeye coat that's really too big for me and it's a longer style that I'm not real fond of. I wear it pretty much every day during the winter.
This year she got me a small backpack to use as a carry on when we travel (we're planning a trip to Australia this spring which may get cancelled due to the bush fires). It's leather and really very nice, but it's bulky when not full and lacks features that I was looking for (a pocket for a water bottle, for example). I'll keep it and use it, even though it's not really what I would have bought for myself.
Anybody else do this?

It's very rare that I return gifts. That said. I received one piece of tech and one Li-Ion tool for Christmas, and both were defective. Rather than returning for the same item, I kicked in extra money and went for an upgraded model.
Both were purchased online, and I had to tell the gift giver because I needed the order information to make the return. I still felt bad, but nobody but "the man" benefits if I kept non-working items.
One of the items was not what I was looking for, but I probably would've kept if working. The other item was something I essentially hand picked and would definitely have kept, I was just skittish about replacing it with the same item since it didn't work.

I'm kinda the same as you, Slacker. My wife will buy me a couple of sport shirts with collars once in awhile. I never take them back unless they don't fit. I alway think, ok, that pattern or color isn't necessarily what I would pick...but I didn't have to go to the store and pick it out myself. I hate shopping. Christmas presents from anyone, I hardly ever return or exchange. Too much trouble. Now, when my mother was alive, she would buy me a shirt that looked like I was in 6th grade. I wouldn't say anything, I just wouldnt wear it.
My wife did get me a humidifire for my office/music room for Christmas this year. It was ultrosonic and very cool...but it leaves that white dust. Oh no that will not due. I boxed it back up, she dropped it off at a UPS pickup place. I found one I liked and texted her the link. She bought it online (Amazon), and it's great.

No, apart from the type of instance already mentioned.
It's the thought that counts, and the least I can do is accept it graciously.

Not really, unless it’s expensive and faulty in some way. I will regift smaller things. Or I just keep the less expensive things.

I accept the gift in the spirit it is given.
So I keep them unless it is clothing which doesnt fit.
If I dont use them, after an appropriate time they may be donated to charity or regifted.

Only clothes that don't fit and can be exchanged. I'm weird about not getting rid of things people give me. It just dosen't feel right.

I never return gifts.
They just disappear.

Only exception being they saying they didn’t know my exact size and take it back to get correct size.
