My sonic blue USACG/MJT Strat body will be shipped shortly. Missouri to Texas in the dead of summer.
How would you let it acclimate? I'm thinking box unopened for 24 hrs, then...?

It should be fine.
Feel the temperature of the cardboard carton. If it's not overly warm from sitting in an un-air-conditioned truck, open 'er up.

Cool. I just don't want "closet clean" to instantaneously go full relic.

I very rarely see lacquer damage I'd attribute to heat. I think the worst that would happen is that the packaging might leave silly putty imprints... the heat combined with the freshness of the lacquer, and possibly very tight packaging. I wouldn't hesitate to open it. If you're still a little jittery, then I'd open it but place it in a place that is a bit warmer instead of the coolest room of the house.
With the extreme cold you can have finish checking if it comes up to room temperature too fast, you might be thinking of that.
