I’m a very casual Jeopardy watcher. If it happens to be on when I’m sitting down I’ll watch, but this tournament is pretty riveting.
Like many here, I know a lot of useless stuff and sometimes believe I could do well at this. But there’s a huge difference between armchair Jeopardy and being on stage with a buzzer.
These three are on a completely different level.
if you’re watching, who are you rooting for?

How many answers did ya get? I got like 8 between the 2 games.
A different level? Where those guys are they have no levels!
I'll be watching tonight.

I've watched both nights.
That is some industrial-grade Jeopardy. James, Ken, and Brad are the big boys.
I'm a fairly good armchair Jeopardy player. I know a lot of stuff that either goes without a response or has three incorrect ones. But that's on the regular daily Jeopardy.
I think the reason I'm not a very wealthy man is that I have very broad but somewhat superficial knowledge. If I had been a person who had a narrow focus with deep knowledge of one subject, I could have been better off than I am now. But I did okay.

I don’t watch it often but my wife and I have watched both nights. Totally amazing. I’m not sure why but I’m hoping Ken wins. I think James will probably win though.

I haven't watched, but I checked out the scores. I suspect it will be James that wins.

My wife has been watching it, I watch a little bit and then retire to the mancave. That show always makes me feel dumb. If I had a favorite, it would be the latest winner, James. The guy with the fake looking smile.

Ya, pretty sure he's gonna pull it out.

Ya, pretty sure he's gonna pull it out. James has a serial killer look and might be a guy who would pull it out when least expected ;>) He said on night 1, "I hate fun. Who wants to play a fun low stakes game." I'm hoping Ken Jennings comes back and wins tonight. The third guy has won the most money ever, but fewer games. He won a few big money tournaments and seem a bit like the odd man out in this group.

My wife was hoping James would get his underbite fixed with his winnings. He still looks the same.

We are watching----in amazement. I simply can't comprehend how anyone has such encyclopedic knowledge about such a range of subjects. But all three of them are spectacular. Like others here, I'm pretty good on regular Jeopardy but this is the major leagues and I can't hit these curve balls.

Like others here, I'm pretty good on regular Jeopardy but this is the major leagues and I can't hit these curve balls. This is the first I am hearing that the questions are at an elevated level. I may have to see if I can watch these games on demand somewhere. When I play along, I have good nights where I seem to know everything and it seems like I should be on the show. Then the next night, different categories and I can't answer anything.

Mike, I have the same experience playing along. Good nights (when I imagine appearing on Jeopardy and winning), and not-so-good nights (which would be embarrassing).

What the heck happened to Brad? The guy is getting creamed! I'm used to him always finding a way to win. Not in this trio... at least so far.

Brad is just getting older. I find that I know the questions sometimes but they just don't come to me.
Sort of like in "Revolution 9" where one of the voices says "a little bit older, a little bit slower." Happens to a lot of us.

We’re rooting for Ken, but we’ll see. James’ risky bets are “win big or lose big.”

In tech that's called RAM (Random Access Memory.) When your pc has to think a few secs to execute your command -- that's your brain on geezerhood!

Sort of like in "Revolution 9" where one of the voices says "a little bit older, a little bit slower." Happens to a lot of us. I think I read where Ken Jennings was asked (during James Holzhauer's winning streak) how he thought he would do against James . His answer, as I recall, was right along the lines of the quoted (above) when part of his response included "Can I have my 2004 brain back?"

BTW: Ken is 45, Brad is 41, James is 35. Just to put the ages and 'old brains' argument in perspective.

My old man was a jeopardy freak. He watched it daily. I can't remember when he got a question wrong.
How does one get that kind of random knowledge.
He should have tried out for the show.

Ken is ahead, 2 games to 1 (James) to zero (Brad). Brad is really struggling. I’m thinking he’ll do better next week, but he’s basically out of it.

James’ risky bets are “win big or lose big.” Where are the ladies? On one or more of the regular syndicated shows this week, there were three women competing. A woman named Karen won 4 or 5 times until she was defeated by an older lady who went on to win once or twice more. I noticed that on Karen's last show, after she realized she could not win, her responses were in a trembling voice.

Wow, pretty dramatic ending with James hitting that daily double to surge ahead and put Ken in a tight spot.
Ken correctly bet 0 as he knew James would bet everything and his only chance was if James was wrong.
Nevertheless, Ken ended on the correct answer, putting it all on James.
James answered incorrectly and Ken took the win and the Tournament.
