She inspired Gordon Lightfoot's 1974 "Sundown," and (she claimed) "The Weight," sold drugs to Ron Wood and Keith Richards Stones, sang back up for Hoyt Axton, and stopped the heart of John Belushi with a heroin / cocaine speedball, in March of 1982. In photos of the time, Cathy Smith kinda looked like Signourney Weaver, when she went to prison for involuntary manslaughter, but served only 15 months of a 3 year sentence, before being deported back to Canada, to work as a legal secretary, eh? Reviled by many, she was never blamed for Belushi's death by his friends Robin Williams and Robert De Niro, who reportedly snorted coke with him on the night of his death. She died on August 18 at 73, but apparently not of Samurai Night Fever. deadline.com/2020/08/cathy-smith-dead-obituary-john-belushi-drug-overdose-gordon-lightfoot-sundown-1203024794/

Huh. I was concerned when I saw the thread title. I thought this was going to be about Natasha Fatale. _________________ Don't scare me like that!

Man, I played the hell out of that "Sundown" album. Classic. Every song is good.
Just played it the other day, in fact.
