Relaxing today because I overdid it yesterday doing yard work.
This is the backing track.
Here's what I did with it. I used a Strat into a POD HD straight into Garage Band.
Y'all should get into this stuff if you're not currently playing with a band. It's fun and it sharpens your chops.

Cool beans. I kinda miss my old POD and wish I had snagged one of the desktop HDs when they were still available. Nice sounds and beeyotchin' jam track. I might just try this one out in the future. Seems like a neat opportunity to utilize the entire guitar inventory.

Cheers, y'all!
If you want a wide variety of really great guitar sounds for direct recording and you're on a budget, I think it's very difficult to do better than a Pocket Pod (about $125 new, cheaper used).
Plugged into a cheap USB interface like the Behringer UM2, you can get killer tones that sound like a mic'd amp, with plenty of effects.
And it's the size of a small hamburger. But don't eat it!

I have an Avid Eleven Rack which in theory should give me everything I want. But something about my old red kidney bean POD 2.0 had a pretty great Fender DR that I was able to dial in. That just on the edge breakup, light compression and reverb.

More wackiness from my lab-BOR-a-tory. This backing track had six different styles mashed together. When it's tough getting together with other players, this is a lot of fun.

Très cool. #1 progression brings that one to mind (git. @1.06 & 2.11, outro 3:00), 70s nyc studio aces' dealing with the matter..

How do you folks that post to YouTube and use a graphic for the whole song do it. (Stupid but serious question #38)

Duke, there are several ways to do this, but here's how I do it. 1. Create the audio track and save it as an MP3. 2. Create a splash graphic in MS Paint (easy enough in any graphics program) an save as a JPG. 3. Go here: www.onlineconverter.com/audio-to-video and choose the MP3 audio and JPG image. 4. Click the Convert button. It gets converted to MP4 format that Yootoob can use. 5. When done, click the Download button. It drops into the browser's Downloads folder. 6. Drag it from the Downloads folder to the desktop. 7. In Yootoob, click the Upload icon, and select the MP4 file from my desktop. 8. Follow the onscreen prompts, select Public, and Publish.

Without knowing I would’ve guessed some type of Gibson, but never a V. It just goes to show you what you can do with a any guitar in the right hands. Well played bro.

So I managed to throw in all 11 of my electrics in 2 and half minutes, plus a sample of Levi Stubbs, hah.

Nice guitar work (and mix) Auf. Sounded like a little Layla thrown in there too.

Thanks guys. I had all kinds of ambition to make it more lengthy but found the jam track surprisingly challenging. I should probably do this kind of stuff more often to add more wank to the toolbox lol.

Since I had nothing better to do I cobbled together a video featuring the guitars. Nice collection. I noticed you have a LP Deluxe Goldtop in the herd. How do you like it? (I have one myself.)

Sharkie, the Goldtop actually started life as a 50's Tribute with P90's. I put the Mini humbuckers (Allparts) in. Its a good guitar, I love the 50's chunkier neck. The Allparts minis really are good pickups. Loud and snarky.
