I searched but didn’t find a general offset thread, so here we are. Bought a new J Mascis Jazzmaster this week. Can’t leave well enough alone so I threw on an AllParts Gibson TOM style bridge with roller saddles. Shimmed the neck, reslotted the nut. May upgrade to bone but so far so good tuning wise. Got a red tortoise pickguard on the way. Here’s stock pics: reverb.com/p/squier-j-mascis-jazzmaster

I nabbed one years ago and added the tort pickguard. Loved the neck, nice and chunky.
Should have kept it. 😑

I hate Oly White. So I had the thing bepurpled. I have a half dozen more - couple Mustangs, pair of Jaguars, a VI. The only Fenders I play any more!

I've got 3 offsets - and more to follow, I'm sure. It's become my fave Fender Body Style. Earlier this year I bought a loaded AmPro JM body from Stratsophere and put a Warmoth JM neck on it. That was my first ever dive into a JM.
I also built this - maybe last year? It's 24.74" scale.
... and this:

The Mascis Squier is an amazing little monster. Got to try out a couple JM's as GC today: The $1800 American Professional Limited Edition and the $500 Squier J Mascis. Both were Olympic white with gold anodize pickguard. The Professional did not have the "rhythm" circuit, while the Squier did. The Pro's pickups are said to be overwound, the Squier generic Jazzmasters. The Pro has a rosewood neck, the Mascis has a maple neck. Both guitars felt comfortable and the necks on both felt about the same to me. Plugged into a Fender HRDx, they both sounded great. Maybe, I mean maybe, there was a little more bite to the Pro's sound, but, really, my old tinnitus-stricken ears said they sounded quite the same. So I decided that while the Pro has the Fender logo and mystique, it wasn't worth $1300 more than the Squier and plunked my money down for that one. The display unit I played had some damage on the body, so they ordered me a new one and will send it to my house.

Thanks!
Not noticable in the first photo of the quilt-top... the neck is Pau Ferro - front and back.
