Check out this youtube video of "The Blackguards" with Redd Volkaert on guitar. Bill Hullett co-produced this along with Javi Pena. The vocalist, Nacho Banos, has got to be the one and the same author of "The Blackguard" book we all love so much! Who'da thunk it...
Edited to add: Not sure why the video won't play. Just do a search on youtube for The Blackguards Sugar Moon.
Edited again to add: The video WILL play if you click on "The Blackguards Sugar Moon" in the upper left corner of the video screen.

Those boys are badasses. That is Nacho from The Blackguard Book.
I am always amazed by the elegance and style of Redd's playing. How he plays like that, with those catcher's mitts for hands, is awesome. I shook his hand once and they really are like catcher's mitts.

Bill and his son, Clay, used to post on the FDP. Clay actually built me a new amp out of an old Fender '59 Bassman RI. PTP chassis and a speaker selector switch to run from one to all four speakers. Pretty neat.
I think Volkaert did for a short time as well but he was more a TDP guy.

That is great. They make it look and sound so easy.

I used to bump into Redd on the Alberta country circuit. He was heavily influenced by George Moody.
