Feel free to post away about wristwatches... I love them.
Nevertheless, though I do enjoy the precision and the heritage of real expensive watches, I myself ain't no Swiss finesse enthusiast or collector.
I'm a Casio man.
Once again, please allow me to explain... My old man, who happens to be my best friend, always wore Casios, particularly diver ones. And it was some kind of tradition between us, I'd inherit the old one when he bought a new one. He was into scuba and snorkel diving, and I was just a young boy, so it was cool to wear his old watches.
Now I'm glad to say I've given him a brand new one that I bought for him, and I've always worn Casios, especially G-Shocks. I love them. They're cheap, reliable, sturdy and will not scratch your car's door when you're in a hurry, which happened with a Rolex Submariner I owned.

In my stash:
* 1969 Omega Speedmaster
* 2019 Omega Seamaster Pro

No way I’ll be losing track of the time!

I gave up my watch and replaced it with a Fitbit Charge 3. I can get the time from my phone, although I can get the same correct time by pressing the button on the Fitbit.

My wife is a retired watchmaker (1981-2019). I have an Invicta Divers watch and one she bought me years ago from Jules Borel. Has a silly name (Mallard) but is an excellent watch with a Swiss electro-mechanical movement.

I really enjoy Seiko divers, they are affordable and have their own look. However, one day I would love to have a Rolex, Omega or even a Tudor.

Primarily an Omega Seamaster but it doesn’t keep very good time.

Currently wearing Garmin Forerunner 45 GPS. Works great for tracking workouts and monitors activity, hear rate, sleep, stress and body battery. Easy to navigate functions on the watch and iPhone app is not a challenge. Can easily customize watch face. More of an entry level GPS but works for me.

Like I said, I used to own a Submariner. It was classy, cool and precise.
But my experience wasn't so good, as I live in a country where crime rates are high and it just ain't safe to walk around with such na expensive piece. Besides, I must confess that I am aa simple man in most ways and it just didn't feel good to wear a watch that cost so much and having to be Careful not to damage or maculate it in any way, I mean I know they aren't easily scratched but still... It was a watch, it told the time. I didn't get along with it.
I'm happier with my Casios. G-Shocks can take a LOT of abuse, they're cheap enough to be expendable and yet they can last long enough to be kept as something dear.
P.S. I am not in ANY way criticizing anyone who owns expensive watches, otherwise I wouldn't have opened a thread to discuss and share our watch knowledge in the first place. I just stated my personal mileage.

Love watches. Not a jewelry person, so they are the only thing I wear. Have a bunch. 2 higher end ones and the rest are a variety-smart watch, an eco-drive one(powers by solar or indoor light), one that has a telecaster face, 2 wood ones etc. The wood watches are the newest trend. Look nice, but not so durable. They do scratch and can't get them wet. I gone from caring about the brand to whatever catches my eye. Most recent is a curv watch-the watch case and glass is rounded to match your wrist. A fun one with colorful choices is 40nine. They're all under $100.

I was given an Apple 4 watch when I retired last spring and have been wearing it since. Keeps track of my heart rate, I can do an ECG, it will detect falls and atrial fibrillation. All that and more, plus I have Mickey Mouse as an animated watch face that tells me the time much to the delight of my 4 year old granddaughter.

I love my Casios, but I haven't worn a watch since I retired 14 years ago. A watch on my wrist was never comfortable and I am glad I rarely need to know what time it is!

I have several Invictas that retail in the $300-500 range; however, I paid no more than about $125 for any of them, and even less for the majority of them.
Full retail price is for losers!!

I'm wearing my Rolex Sub as I type. The thing about some watches is, that like some other material things, buy right and you've made a good investment. I bought this for $3600 in mid-2000. It's worth close to $9000 today and should keep going up as the five digit Rolex's move into legendary territory like the four digit ones have. My five digit GMT II "Pepsi" was bought brand new for $2450 in 2006 from an AD in Ketchum who'd lost their Rolex dealership and sold it to me at just a few percent above cost. It's now worth north of $10k.
I have a couple other nice watches that have moved similarly. At some point in the next couple years, I will probably sell them as stuff like this matters less and less to me as I get older. Maybe I'll get an Apple 8 watch and it'll tell me stories about the days of black and white (something one of my young sons thought was a real thing once upon a time).

I have an old pocket watch from my grandfather. Not sure if it runs, or if it is worth anything. I’ll have to dig it out and post it, I bet someone will be able to identify it.

I have a 1918 Waltham that my father gave me. Not worth much but it’s beautiful and works fine, though it rushes a bit

My interest in pocket watches goes back to both my grandfathers. I inherited both their watches - one is an old Elgin watch that my grandmother had repaired before I got it, and the other is a ceramic-face South Bend lineman's watch that I need to get restored one of these days. One of my favorites, that I have lost the fob on, is a $5 watch I got from Argentina that says nothing but "antimagnetic" on the face. It's a cool art deco style, and really works nicely.

I have my grandfather's Tiffany&Co. gold pocket watch from his college graduation in 1925 and *his* grandfather's key wind watch with a P.J. Bartlett movement in an American Watch Co. coin silver case that dates from 1877. Both are well-regulated. I also have an 1888 Elgin that I bought back when I was doing Cowboy Action Shooting and a wristwatch just didn't go with the cowboy look.

I have a Timex. Prior to that I had a Timex. My next watch will likely be a Timex. Police work was sometimes hard on watches, so there was no need to invest in a quality timepiece.

I have a Timex. Prior to that I had a Timex. My next watch will likely be a Timex. Police work was sometimes hard on watches, so there was no need to invest in a quality timepiece. Me, too. I’ve looked through many, many web pages of watches, looking for something “better” than my Timex Easy Reader, but I’ve found none: easy to read at a glance, has day & date, and if it’s too dark to read the time, all I have to do is press in the stem and the dial lights up. This model has been around for 40 years; there’s a 40th anniversary model out, but it doesn’t have the day & date Windows (apparently a cost-cutting move). I initially bought the gold tone model, but much prefer the silver tone; I even bought a spare one just in case I couldn’t find another some day. www.google.com/search?client=safari&channel=ipad_bm&sxsrf=ACYBGNSm6trspie8a6gm2PiOdGbHmf4MPA%3A1579008908326&source=hp&ei=jMMdXo_NEY_cswWC57DIBA&q=timex+easy+reader&oq=timex&gs_l=psy-ab.1.1.35i39j0i273l5j0j0i273l3.2426.4206..5922...1.0..0.118.436.4j1....3..0....1..gws-wiz.....10..35i362i39.euYdr-YSswY

Nicest conventional watch I have is a Hamilton self winding. I also have a Seiko Titanium, another Seiko and a couple of Citizen Eco-Drives. I haven’t worn any of them since I got the Apple. It just does so many things that the typical watch can’t do. I also have no desire to have a extremely expensive watch. It’s just like cars, no desire to own an extremely expensive one. Or houses, or clothes, or “. “ (fill in the blank). I appreciate those who do though because someone is working to fill the want.

I have a couple Tag Heuer watches. One is an automatic and the other is a quartz. I would like to get a Rolex but they have really gotten so much more expensive these days. I would probably buy a used one if anything.

I would probably buy a used one if anything. Used ones have gotten ridiculous as well. My five digit Sub Date is in the $9k range and my five digit GMT II Pepsi is well over $10k. Unlike so many used watches out there, I'm the original owner with the boxes, all papers, and original receipts.
