Many years ago, I read a pretty funny article by a guy who was into "gas saving" devices that he installed in his car. Each one claimed a positive fuel saving of "X Percent".
Some addressed the fuel as it left the tank. A couple of them "energized" the gas before it got to the fuel pump. Another used magnets to "stabilize" the volatile gasoline before it entered his carburetor ( yes carburetor. It was THAT many years ago!)
Using his new fangled, hand -held, battery -powered, calculating device, he figured out that he was saving so much gas that he'd soon have to buy a trailer with an auxiliary tank on it, to take on all the excess gas overflowing from the tank in his car, due to the gas saving devices.
Today we have better calculating devices (phone) to figure out what we'll do with all the extra years tacked on to our "three score and ten" because of life style changes.
According to the medical journals and Doctor Oz, we get extra credit for giving up smoking, losing weight, staying out of the sun, exercising the prescribed number of minutes per day, eating the right foods while avoiding the junk we'd rather stuff ourselves with, avoiding stress, being married, socializing, limiting the hours of TV and video games, getting enough sleep, drinking gallons of water, owning a dog ...
I saw all this on the internet and TV, so it must be true. Let's make the commitment, guys, let's all live to be 130.

All that stuff doesn't make you live longer, it just makes it seem longer.
