Have The Melvins been mentioned? There's a range of 90s stuff I liked and some I didn't. Others not mentioned would be Fig Dish, Magnapop, Bob Mould/Sugar, Superchunk, Local H, one hit wonders Veruca Salt...also, ditto to Opie on alt-country, Son Volt, Wilco. I buy every Son Volt release still and see them / Jay Farrar when touring if possible.

Have The Melvins been mentioned? No, and I am sorry they were forgotten. Excellent band.

I think I underestimated the genre and the forum's response to it. I anticipated a far more negative response.

I think I underestimated the genre and the forum's response to it. I anticipated a far more negative response. I realize I am a few years younger than you and I think there was a lot of junk then, but there WAS some truly good music made in the 1990s (especially the first half). There was also a lot of junk in the 1960s too, so I am not picking on any one era. There is always good music and junk music being made at any time.

We've chatted with Jon Langford a couple times. He’s a real gent. Last time I met him he ended up playing dominoes before a gig with an octogenarian friend of mine.

Perhaps I should have anticipated a different response on a message board filled with music enthusiasts. I know personally, even the genres of guitar-based music I don’t listen to, I still appreciate.

Perhaps my favorite XM Satellite station is Hair Nation. So, no. YOUR MUSIC KILLED MY MUSIC!!!
LOL
I like Collective Soul and some Grunge/Alt Rock songs. But I enjoy shredding, so it's not my favorite era.
