Since we have had some relatively mild and dry weather for the last month I have been getting lots of outdoor projects finished up. The weather had better get cold one of these days soon and stop me or I'm going to need a vacation. All of the physical exertion is wiping me out.

I've spent most nice days since August 10 either working at my job or working at my yard. It's the one thing that makes me look forward to winter...getting away from chainsaws, rakes, shovels, etc for awhile.
Fortunately, I pretty much just have some felled trees in the woods behind my house to limb and haul the branches away. The city won't be picking up storm debris anymore next spring, so I'll probably have to hire someone to haul it away.

"getting away from chainsaws" You get away from chainsaws in the winter??? That's the plan. I've never owned or operated a chainsaw until mid August. Now I own two and have a lot of hours using them. I've limbed and bucked about a dozen trees now and, using my BIL's splitter, now have about 15 years worth of firewood. Never felled one yet and likely never will.

I'm able to watch my outdoor projects being done from my computer desk. Sometimes it just gets to be too much and I lie down for a nap.

"now have about 15 years worth of firewood." So....how much wood is that?

That's probably about a year and a half for you, roly.

"now have about 15 years worth of firewood." So....how much wood is that? Well, we only burn wood when we do a fire pit, which is about 5-10 times a year. I don't know how to calculate cords, but it's three stacks about 5' tall and 12' long. We didn't split it all, I sent a pickup bed full with my BIL to give to his friend who heats his shop with a woodstove. It's all hickory, maple, oak and walnut.

I actually did get to the miscellaneous painting jobs on our barn that I started last spring and then left to drift...until my guitar playing friend, who works at a Home Depot, left a Sandvik paint scraper with me. Man, that thing is like a hand planer! Zzzzing goes the old paint.
Unfortunately, my wife noticed how industrious I was, and, because I'm not doing Sunday band practice for a few weeks due to *current circumstances*, I was dragooned to painting some new cabinets in the laundry room.... which also entailed painting the old ones and cleaning up and patching the plaster and doing the walls as well.
