I did not post this because I had any interest in 2nd amendment arguments, background checks, etc (not here, anyway).
But from 1998 to 2001, I was president and executive director of a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization in an industry segment, and I was absolutely scrupulous about use of member funds. To me, the disclosures about LaPierre, North, and others in senior NRA positions, coupled with the NYS investigation (would NRA ever have made the disclosures but-for the NYS investigation?) are absolutely appalling, a disgrace, and if I were a member of NRA (I am not), I'd be pissed.
When you are in a senior position in an organization like NRA (or my group), there is a duty to the membership to be a straight shooter. When you are not, the members have to have some recourse against what is essentially theft of member funds. I do not see that is possible at NRA. Firearms owners are not well served here.

Shopping sprees, expensive suits and tastes. The whole thing was unsavory.
