Thanks all.
I wasn't really looking to get a signature model, but I was first looking at Floyd Rose Strats, and this Jackson seemed to be about as close as possible to that ideal while still getting the shredder thin, wide nut, flat radius type neck.

That looks like a great choice! Plus, no pointy headstock!! And a locking nut. I like it!

First thing to do when it arrives, before you embark on a journey to Wangbar City: apply a teensy drop of light machine oil (3-in-1) to the knife-edge pivot points on the two bridge studs.
Don't drip it on; instead, use the point of a toothpick like a ball-point pen to 'draw' it on: apply oil to the toothpick from the spout of the container, and then place the oil on the fulcrum.
And do this at every string change. This pretty much eliminates wear and clicking noises many players get.
WD40 is not a lube, so that's not an option.

I don't think I have any 3-1, how about PB Blaster?

I’d use something more like 3-1 oil than that. PBP is a penetrating oil.

I'll have to get some. All my potions and elixirs are geared more toward small engine repair.

3-in-1 Oil is cheap. And EVERY guitarist - acoustic and electric player - should have a can of it on their bench.

There are other uses, as well. You will be informed when those come up.

I like Dupont dry teflon lubricant for guitar stuff as well, it's a liquid that dries and leaves a thin film of teflon on whatever you apply it to. It's better than graphite for lubricating nut slots

By the way, possibly inspired by this thread, I also went into the stunt guitar space with my first FR guitar. I've played quite a few over the years as a couple of my guitar teachers favored them, but this one does stick out like a sore thumb in the midst of some very traditional options. That said, does the fact that someone has reissued this mean it's now considered a "classic" design?

I really like those HM Strats. The HMs are becoming collectable. Everybody (yes, including YOU, dear reader) needs a stunt guitar.

I think Eddie Van Halen's passing rekindled my interest in Super Strats after not paying any attention to them in decades. Watching all his old videos, and others from those days...

So how are you making out with the new guitar? I broke out the Charvel today, and had so much fun playing it. I actually forgot how much fun it can be to have a Floyd Rose and some high output pickups. I might be better at the 80's stuff than I thought....ok, probably not, but this guitar makes me wonder. Hope you're enjoying the Jackson! Oh, I clicked your link and it went to a Double Bass Drum Pedal! Lol. Tried it again, and it went to the Jackson.

Thanks for asking! I've been meaning to do a review. So far so good.
The Floyd Rose is a lot of fun, but it's taken some time to get used to. The setup was a bit off, too, but I'm slowly getting it dialed in. It has .009-042 strings, and I'm more used to .010-046s, and I would like to get those changed out sometime soon.
The bridge pickup is surprisingly good, it's a G&B copy of a Dimarzio Super Distortion. It has nice tone and can pick up on pinch harmonics really well, which I'm enjoying. The two single coils should be super hot (around 12K resistance), but they're actually pretty mellow. They sound fine, but there is definitely a big volume drop off when switching from the bridge to the neck.
Speaking of the neck, the general chunkiness is pretty similar to my Am Std Strat, but the profile is different. It very comfortable to play. The flat compound radius makes bends super easy. I really like the neck.
The only downside is that on this particular guitar there is no access to the truss rod, so you have to take the neck off to make an adjustment. It hasn't been a problem so far, but I'm not looking forward to making an adjustment when the time comes, given the Floyd.
I'm still learning how to be "musical" with the Floyd Rose. It's actually proving to be tougher than it seems. It's easy to dive bomb, of course, but harder to dive and hit a pitch that's in key. I've slowly gotten the setup dialed in to my preferences, by taking my time and only changing one thing at a time, with a few days to let things stabilize. I think the strings needed to stretch a bit, which made the tuning pretty unstable for a while. I seem to be getting it, though.
So I'm happy -- the bridge pickup was a very nice surprise, and the neck is good. The Floyd Rose has definitely posed some challenges, though.

Nice review! I think every tremolo is a little different. The best one I have is on my Ultra Jazzmaster...or I should say, easiest to use. Then the Floyd Rose on the Charvel, last is the Strat which is a great guitar but still comes in last for tremolo usage. Surprised that you're having tuning issues with the locking nut though. You're probably right, just strings stretching. Hopefully you don't have to adjust the truss rod very often! I used to do that twice a year, but lately I've not been quite as attentive to detail as I once was. I'll have to check the Charvel, I've never adjusted it. And depending on your age, you might want to just get used to the .009-.042 strings!

WOW... It looks very beautiful snow white guitar. I liked this guitar but for now it is out of my budget. Great choice. I found information on parlor guitars for sale and found good guitar there. Thanks

Nice! I somehow forgot you're a lefty. I'm left-handed too, but I play right. My first guitar (used Cort strat copy) was RH, and the guy I bought it off of told me all I'd have to do to make it play Hendrix style. At the time, it seemed pretty complicated so I just learned righty style.
