I've been looking at this one:
Anyone here used this one for bass?
Likes?
Dislikes?
Prefer a different pedal?
Thanks in advance.

If I were after an EQ pedal, my first choice may be the Tech 21 GED 2112 pedal (Yes, I do have a 4003s and at the rate things are going, I am eventually going to try one out).
Fender also has the Downtown Express pedal that seems to have at least a good overdrive sound in it in videos.

MXR 10 band EQ Very nice unit . None of the hiss and noise like the Boss unit I once had. Works like eq should. My one and only dislike is the LED’s are very bright but I have it on top my amp instead of a pedal board so not really an issue there.

OK: the MXR M108S is on the way from Sweetwater.
I know that a parametric would probably be more "fine tune-able", but the graphic unit seems way more intuitive to operate and this one gets mostly rave reviews though, like LTB, several reviewers mention the "too bright" slider LEDs.
We shall see. I'll post my opinion of it after it arrives and I've gotten to know it.

I don't get the "pedals for bass" thing.
Bass and kit hold up the house. Why would one want to adulterate the foundation? When I encounter young bass players with pedals, I always ask the same question.....How much did you pay for that pedal that makes your amp sound broken? If your rig doesn't sound right, there are plenty of options to consider before before investing in pedals. cheers

Give me P-90s straight into a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe and I'll toss the Tube Screamer into a drawer.
For bass, I'm not interested in adding chorus or delay or distortion or phasing or wah or flanging, but I view an EQ pedal as a different, more subtle animal: not an "effect", per se, that drastically alters (or "adulterates", as you put it) the instrument's fundamental sound to the same degree as the other boxes listed above.
Oh well, we'll see whether this one gets me what I'm looking for...or not.

Yamaha NE-1 preamp/parametric eq . The "Nathan East" secret box . Pity they stopped making them , I sometimes use them on practice amps to fatten things up at low volume .

The MXR M108S wasn't scheduled for delivery til next Tuesday but showed up today, which was a pleasant surprise (thanks, Sweetwater).
Liking being able to fine-tune specific frequency ranges: removing some unwanted edge from the G string without muddying up the E down near the nut. Helps add some punch overall. Wound up mostly kind of "smiley-face" scooping the mids for today's experimentation. If anyone else is considering this particular one, just be aware that it requires 18V (rather than the more common 9V) of power. If you buy new, an 18-volt wall wart comes with it so if you buy used and don't have a power supply that has 18-volt outlets, double check that the seller is including the wall wart that came with it. My Strymon "Ojai" power block only has 5 X 9-volt leads. They make a bigger one with 9 outputs, 2 of which are switchable (9-12-18-volts).
