I was not familiar with Kate Wolf until Nancy Griffith covered Kate's "Across the Great Divide" on her LP Other Voices Other Rooms. A little research showed me that Kate was a much loved and respected songwriter.

I'm a fan. My live shows, alone or with the band I always close with Across the Great Divide. It might just be my favorite song ever. I like to think she's saving me a seat at the bar.

I love her. Her "An Evening in Austin" album with Nina Gerber is one of my favorite records. I wish I had found her while she was still with us.
