...on this amp [click]. This has been on my list for many years and now I await it's arrival in the next week. Since Fender came out with the 'Tone Master' version, I thought maybe that would be the way to go but, no! I've been wanting the real deal so, I ordered the one in the link that is a 'Sweetwater special'. My indulgence in this stuff has no boundaries.

And, at an approximate eight pound weight savings as compared to the standard model, sweet!

Description says "The Twin is devastatingly loud"

I clicked your link and got this: Dude. You are living on the EDGE! I'm assuming it's supposed to take me to a Tonemaster Twin Reverb. The TMDR and TMTR are killer amps.

There are some odd redirects that happen from this bbs.

No kidding. As an example, here's a pic of me during a recent trip to Texas.

I think the original link was to a "real" Twin with special neo speakers. I *could* be mistaken though.

Ohhhh okay. They are big. They are heavy. And they are LOUD. A person has no reason to have one of these for use at home because you really cannot dial it up to its sweet spot on the volume control without having blood squirt out yer ears. Which is a good reason to get one!

Only 56 pounds, sweet! A little lighter than the BF TR I used to have...

Yes, it's lighter annnnd...it's 50 bucks cheaper than the standard model. It's loud and that's for sure but, I have an answer to this issue!........TURN IT UP!!! Actually, I have my Torpedo Captor X I can plug into it for home use. Should be able to dial it to the sweet spot and not blow my windows and ear drums out. On another note and regarding my other thread 'Building a Strat', the neck for this guitar is finally being delivered today after 3 months of waiting. More on this later on at some point in that thread.

Another volume tip, Ludwig. Turn the volume on your guitar all the way off. Turn up the volume on your amp to the sweet spot. Now bring up the guitar volume up bit by bit you have a reasonable overall volume when you play lightly. You should bet getting some nice saturated tones without shaking the earth. Rhett Shull has a video on this. Things get going around the 3:30 mark.

Good advice there, langford. I enjoy watching Rhett. I'll be doing the usual experiments when...I get the amp which delivery has been problematic at best. Fed Ex 'attempted' a delivery yesterday but, it would seem the driver doesn't know to knock on the door or ring the door bell. Trainee? This simple notification canceled by the cancel culture? I wasn't more than 15 feet away from the door when this attempt was made. At any rate, I have set up with Fed Ex for me to pick it up from them. Today, hopefully. Actually, I have two items I ordered from Sweetwater, the other being a Boss EQ pedal which I will also pick up myself but, from another location. All this is due to having to sign for the shipment which is why I was paying so much attention to it's delivery. They didn't give me the option to forgo the signing thing and that's the story about that. Rant off. ... The next time I order something like this, I will request that the vendor use another delivery service other than Fed Ex if I have to sign for the item. This is not the first time I have this kind of trouble with them. Ok, now rant off.

I have a 1992 BFTRRI. I LOVE it! Loud doesn't even BEGIN to describe it. After I put vintage C12N speakers in it that thing is incredible. It takes pedals very well. A good overdrive pedal will make it sing at any volume but if you want to peel the paint off the walls a Strat and a Twin on 7 or more will do it. It is heavy though.

I have a 2007 I play through at church. It is heavy, and thankfully it’s on casters and only moves when repairs are needed. It keeps up with my friend’s JC-120 very well. I had a M-80 Chorus before that complete with factory grey fuzzy carpet covering...🥴

After having to deal with FedEx for delivery of this amp, here it is. Yeah, this is the same pic I used in the other thread dealing with that nice looking guitar you see along side. What can I say. I'm cheap. Anyway, I'm not too amused by how the amp was packed by Sweetwater. Not used to the shoddy handling done on this amp. Two thing right away stood out. The box it was sent in was 'road worn'. Looked like a hold over from last century. I'm not kidding. The other thing that was way below standard on their part is that the amp was packed in the box upside down according to the warning label of 'this end up'. The amp is none the worse for wear aesthetically but, imagine it being shipped that way from across the country. They used the proper packing material but, another thing very noticeable was all the paper work just thrown together like someone was in a hurry. I just need to talk to the good folks at Sweetwater on this but, to what end, I have no idea. Anyway, I'm initially impressed with this amp and it's sound but, I want to start another thread about that kind of thing in a new thread as there is a little surprise that I noticed operating this amp. You can catch that one a little later as I have a short video I need to utube.

Did you get candy?!?!
Yeah, let your sales rep know. Stuff happens and sometimes people need to be “tightened up.”

Yes, Lefty, I got the candy but, there was room enough in the box for a few more of those. But wait! There's more! I have another package from Sweetwater I'll be picking up tomorrow. It should have candy as well! I should have enough packs of these candies to last the apocalypse.

That's purdee. I like the wine-red tolex.
I see all the volume knobs are on 1. C'mon man, annoy the neighbors a little.

That is a pretty amp. I have the same amp in the black cover version and it sits in my living room as my primary amp for home use. It's crazy I know...but true.

Well, now that I've had this amp for a little more than a month [geez, been that long already?], I am totally blown away by how it sounds and am not, in anyway, disappointed with anything about it. Not even how much I paid for it. It sounds great [understated!] set at about 5 on the volume which is not loud at all and a perfectly acceptable level. The reverb has more range to it than I expected and lives up to what I have thought a twin reverb has been all about to me all these years. I remember that when I was a kid back in the day, if you didn't have a twin reverb, you had a 'twin twelve' Silvertone because the Fender was out of your parents price range. I always thought that they called it a twin reverb because it has two reverbs in it and I believed that for a long time and then I thought it's really about the two twelve inch speakers that they're talking about but, to tell you the truth, I have no idea what reference they are using. I've left it at that 'mystery' levels since way back then. This is an amp that's been on my radar for as long as all those years ago can stand up. To say that it has lived up to all my expectations would be a great understatement. I have a lot of great amps on hand but, this one stands out in my mind and is truly what I believe an amp is supposed to sound like. Every guitar I've played through it, including my newly acquired and hand assembled, Warmoth Strat, sound great through this amp. My pedals sound great through it as well and have decided that the normal channel is what I will use to push the pedals through. I have to mention with all that I've said so far about this amp that it is not a 'stock' twin as it is a special Sweetwater edition with Celestion Cream backs in it so, it will obviously sound a bit different than the original but, I don't think by much. With that, have I mentioned how much I like this amp? Well, let me tell you.... Ok, there's enough wind in this post to push a schooner.

Twin Reverb... .
3 band Eq, Tremelo and Reverb, extremely sensitive, full of punch ... when it comes to cleans I consider it to be the gold standard. A pro amp.. that if your playing isn’t what it should be, your audience will know.
A Telecaster and a Twin Reverb go together like a single malt scotch and a cuban cigar. Imo ... I think Leo Fender was thinking Telecasters when he designed the Twin Reverb. If your a Tele guy ... ya haven’t lived until you have spent some time with a Twin Teverb
Roy Nichols and Albert Lee, Don Rich, & Pete Anderson all my guitar idols ... All where Masters at working the Twin Reverb.
. Tastes have changed ... Seems a lot of modern country guys are gravitating to Vox or Vox clones... or the Deluxe Reverb.
Huge Mike Stern fan... great Jazz guitarist . He’s a huge influence on my jazz playing. He has used Twins live for years!
I still gig and practice with a Twin Reverb
