Using AI to manipulate head shot photos, Deep Nostalgia on the MyHeritage genealogy site, creates a GIF out of the plain photo you upload of deceased Gramps. He can smile, blink, nod and so on. On one level, amazing. On another, kind of creepy, cause you can also upload Ted Bundy or Charles Manson. Want to go way back in time? You can animate the face of a statue. Look, there's Julius Caesar winking at you from 44 BC. Not just photos, though. You can upload drawings and illustrations as well. Now about Marie Antoinette giving you a sly smile before the blade falls? You can upload five freebies before you get pulled into signing up as a member. gadgets.ndtv.com/internet/news/deep-nostalgia-brings-historical-photos-to-life-using-ai-deepfake-animate-myheritage-2380345

And next we can AI our way into past loved one holograms that are always just a Siri or Alexa summons away.
(Life like dead husband hologram stands in the living room, giving wife investment advice and suggesting alternative medications. No chance of that being hacked, right?)
(GPS with voice of dead spouse. "Will you pay attention? I told you to take the next right. Don't make me come back from the grave!")

Catering to the wish-thinking masses is a multi billion dollar industry.

(GPS with voice of dead spouse. "Will you pay attention? I told you to take the next right. Don't make me come back from the grave!") reminds me of the 60s sitcom "My Mother the Car"
