my little corner of the world received 6" of rain yesterday/last night and everything is flooded. main roads are closed because of Green river. county roads are closed because of tributaries. the 2 little creeks on my farm were white capping before sunset and later last night it sounded like i would imagine Niagara Falls would sound (never been there)... a heavy roar. our 2 ponds are over the spillways... this is after the ice/sleet/snow storm we had last week that brought us about 6" of precip. everything was already saturated... had no where to go
my house is on a hill so we're pretty safe from all that, if water ever gets to us, it will be catastrophic. the bottom is about 800' above sea level, our house is about 980 and the top of the hill is about 1250'.
one of my ham radio buds is an EMT and works with local rescue organizations... he says it's a real mess they had a half dozen rescues and a structure fire. it was crazy, a fire in all this rain and them wading around in knee deep water!

I live 20 minutes from Niagara Falls. That's all I got.

Dang! Stay safe up there.
Years ago when Grand Forks, ND flooded, gas lines broke and many buildings in town burned down...to the water line. It was surreal.
