I just had a loud knock on the door. Turned on the light, and it's a Domino's Pizza delivery person, along with another pizza delivery person. They were trying to make sure they were at the correct address, because our outdoor lights weren't on.
The orders had the correct address, but the wrong first name and phone number. The last name on the order was correct.
Two different orders from two different pizza companies, both here at the same time! One order was for over $30, the other was over $40 worth of pizza.
One of them then came back to ask if anyone else lived here that might have ordered pizza. Yes, my wife, but she had gone to bed over an hour earlier.
Pranksters....but why?

Just had another knock on the door. This time, it was Pizza Hut. Same name and phone number on the order.

Just had another knock on the door. This time, it was Pizza Hut. Same name and phone number on the order. Someone is having fun with you. Did you do anything to upset a neighbor? Or more likely, a neighbor’s kid? Depending on age, a kid might not even know you could order a pizza without DoorDash and a valid credit card. It happened to my family once when I was a kid. As it turned out, we didn’t have dinner plans and my dad paid for it and we ate it lol. But the worst incident was at my neighbor’s house. Pizza guy came and knocked on our door. Was one of the guys from our usual place, so he knew us. Turns out someone ordered two pies and a two liter soda to the house across the street. He put the car in park and left the engine running. While he was waiting at the door, someone appeared from out of nowhere, jumped in his car, and took off. We were offered those pizzas for free, and we ate those as well. Z Interesting postscript, the delivery guy ended up, while delivering pizzas with his Mom’s car, finding the vehicle on the street about 3 weeks later. He used his second set of keys to steal the vehicle back. The thief had put in a brand new (and expensive) stereo, upgraded all the speakers, and put in a subwoofer in the trunk. He reported where the vehicle had been found, police tracked down the thief, arrested him, and returned the keys to the owner. At the end of the day, he lost his car for 3 weeks, got it back in the same condition with the exception of a fully upgraded stereo system. Nobody ever asked about it, it was never mentioned, and he was more than happy to keep it.

The phone number on the order was from somewhere outside the Atlanta, GA area.

It's still not too late for brown Christmas trees to show up in your yard, dropped off by well meaning folks answering the prank ad, "Wanted: Your Old Christmas Tree. Don't bother to knock, just dump and run. Thank you!"

Crazy.
Back when the Lexus first came out, it was much hyped and expensive. Our AF unit's ops officer was a very image-conscious guy and he had pre-ordered one. It was a nice car, and initial demand was such that dealers could not keep them on their lots, and they were backordered for almost a year. In the meantime, one of the gals in the unit pranked the ops officer really good: she took a picture of the car and hung a For Sale card on the for-sale board near the cafeteria of a Large Gubmint Agency where about 10,000 people worked:
Brand New Lexus, Low Miles Must sell quickly due to overseas PCS <--military move where you cannot take your car with you $xx,xxx.xx <-- I don't remember the dollar amount, but it was low. Comically low.
Needless to say, the guy's phone started ringing. A lot. It was about a week before he realized what was going on and took the card down.

Local radio station posted a Craigslist ad with one of the on-air guys’ actual cell number. The ad was for Free Monkeys. Same kind of hilarity ensued.

Might be worth the while calling all those places and tell them how many got pranked. If the call was generated from a landline maybe there's some recourse on their part.
