Our dogs have periodic skirmishes over dominance around the house. Nothing serious, either the subordinate one is "just checking" to determine any minute changes in the hierarchy or the dominant one is, at a random moment, reasserting her "in charge" status.
Outside on a walk is another matter: it's the three of us against the world: a finely-tuned, defensive unit...no bickering.
Probably helps that they are small and there are coyote scent markings everywhere.

"Unit Cohesion" both sounds like a band name and something that happens in your underpants when its too hot outside.

I believe "skid marks" is the correct, technical term.
