Has anyone played one of these Fender guitars?

No. Looks very interesting to me. Would like to try one out. Kind of pricy though.

I'm very interested in them. I need to play one and decide if they're worth the bucks.

I'm looking to get a used Tele shape, my friend has one and it's great.

Fender recently released the Jazzmaster-style. There’s a demo on Reverb that could hook a guy.

I have a Taylor T5z Pro that fills this niche quite well.

They look kind of weird to me - YMMV. Even if they sound great, if I’m spending two grand on a guitar, it won’t be that one.

I like the Tele too and now there’s an offset contour version? Yikes, count me in. I’ll try to find one to demo later this year after I get my tax obligations figured out.

They look really interesting, especially the Jazzmaster, but $2K is alot of money for a niche guitar.

Well... but is it niche in application?

I like the concept. Haven't played one yet.

I've played a few. They're well made, and sound okay, not boxy like you'd expect from a small bodied thing. I suspect that drop in spruce top helps.
Like the Taylor T5, I just never know what I'm supposed to be playing on one of these when I get it. Actual acoustics make better acoustics and actual electrics make better electrics and so on; there seems to be a better tool in the toolbox for anything it does, so I'm always scratching my head wondering why these exist. The only thing I can think of is that it would be a great option for quick acoustic sounds on a high volume stage and would be better than many acoustics when a feedback buster is used or using the piezo bridge on a solid body guitar. Maybe the Tommy Emmanuel disciples find them useful? I don't know.

I own a T5z which is a bit better at electric guitar tones than the T5 is. I find it useful for covering an acoustic part and being able to switch to a LP or Tele tone with a flick of a switch. The neck and string height is also much easier to play than my acoustics. It doesn’t replace either electric or acoustic but it is useful.

One of my students bought one, its a nice guitar but WAY overpriced IMO. I think the thing that limits these type of guitars is the acoustic strings. For the money you could get a decent acoustic electric and a couple of electrics with different pickup configurations and be way ahead.

I just ordered the Tele version. After much consideration I believe it fits my current needs perfectly.

My Tele arrived yesterday. So far this mostly electric player is very impressed. Could it be I’ve finally found my constant companion guitar? I’ll get back to y’all on that.

So far I love this guitar. The acoustic tones are discernible and articulate through my Spark 40 in “acoustic” mode. This guitar plays a lot like an electric but retains an acoustic vibe that has me believing it was well worth the investment. It’s also a great couch guitar because it plays softer than a typical acoustic when unplugged and is easy to handle.

I was thinking the Spark would be a great amp for one of these.

I was thinking the Spark would be a great amp for one of these. Yes certainly as good as I’d hoped it would be. I have no desire to acquire an acoustic amp and no real need for one outside of this new Fender acoustasonic.

I just wrapped up an hour playing in a hotel room in SLC on my layover to ID. The acoustic volume of this guitar is perfect for couch playing and it plays like a dream. This Acoustasonic Tele has energized me. I love the gig bag ease of transporting and it converts to more playing time.

Bringing back a relatively old thread.
Being a "studio rat" I could see where having one of these would be very handy. The video demos I've seen are pretty amazing to me. I'm smitten by the Pink Paisley Tele model. My birthday is next week and will be going to the music store to test one out soon.

Never thought much of those until I saw/heard Greg Koch play one on one of his recent live streams. I was shocked at how good it sounded. A really decent acoustic sound, all the way to a good electric hollowbody sound. He was playing through a dedicated acoustic amp, so I think that helped.

Yep, bought one couple of weeks ago and gigged it on Friday (5th Nov). I was hesitant about the Acoustasonic guitars until the Jazzmaster version was reviewed in Guitarist and elsewhere, then decided that I really should give this a try. I have a beautiful Taylor 424 in full Koa that sounds wonderful unplugged and amplified - tones to die for. But when playing it for occasional acoustic numbers within a live electric band situation, controlling the induced resonance from other loud instruments is really difficult. Sufficient volume to cut across for a solo would lead to a huge howl-around, and much moving around to find a spot blocking the acoustic feedback path.
So enter the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster. Some great acoustic tones, easily varied to taste, as loud as you like and not affected by pickup from the bass amp or kick drum. Is it as tasty as the Taylor? No. But the sounds played through LR Baggs Venue into the PA are truly convincing as an acoustic guitar within an electric band. More so in fact than the Taylor T5 I previously used for this purpose (and which incidentally I sold within a week for what I paid for it 12 years ago- result!). And of course, in the event of a broken string or other failure of my electric guitar, a quick flick to the humbucker at the bridge could save the day.
For the first gig ever I was able to hear an acoustic sound clearly with no problems, and a video that somebody took on the night proved that the sound was 'good enough for rock and roll'. If you are playing an entirely acoustic set, use an acoustic guitar, but in a band, this thing rocks. And it is a joy to play too.
Give one a try I say!
