Not that I'm thinking about it (anytime soon anyway), but what's the consensus about selling the guitar vs parting them out? Assuming the guitar is assembled from quality parts (Fender, Warmoth, etc.) seems to me one might have a better return parting them out, unless the prospective buyers have a chance to try before they buy.

I've thought about this before and I came to the conclusion that I'd part them out. Not that I'm thinking of selling the three I have, but, if I did, I'm convinced the money is in the parts.

I’ve done it both ways and you don’t have a prayer of getting g your money back selling it whole.
Part it out.

I sold a Parts Tele and got a pretty good number for it.
Actually, if I remember correctly I think I got asking price.
YMMV
EDITED to add: It did have a rare body going for it though. It had a Japanese blue flower body, and at the time they were really expensive on Reverb and eBay, so that guitar may not be a good one to gauge by.

Parting out will certainly net way more money, but then you have to go through the process.
