Like most we lost all of our gigs including our 2 weeklies, but one called us back for a couple months last fall, though outdoors. Then they called us back a couple months ago for indoors. I wasn't crazy about the idea as I hadn't had my shot but didn't want to lose the job. I got the shot earlier this week and felt better about being indoors last night, we're still masking up and probably will be for some time, not talking any unnecessary chances. You?

Everything went down last March here in Mi. Just got a set list .. to stand in for a band that’s family “literally.” They are gigging periodically ... and because of this i was asked to be a back up.
Get back to work! Do what you do! In many ways you are an essential worker. Why?
Because you represent Normalcy, a return to normal, an everything is going to be ok, a “we are back” etc etc...
Quit slacking .bro.. we got the masses to entertain! We are bringing back the nightlife and good times back!

We had all of our gigs cancelled last March. We managed 3 gigs in a week last September before we locked down again. Nothing since then, but bookings have started to come in ahead of relaxation of lockdown and our first gig is booked for 21st May. Now all we need to do is to get a drummer

I’ve been gigging normally since July of 2020. Even picked up new venues because some of the other bands/musicians were too afraid to play.

Been back at work for 6 weeks. Things are very different, clean mics and no sharing mics is a bottom line. I have a mic disinfecting station set up. Each performer is issued a labeled clean mic, one for every member of each band when there are multiple acts. Plus the seating area has to have correctly spaced tables and no one can stand up or leave the table without donning a mask.

Our rehearsal studio re-opens today. They've had "clean mics" since last year, but I take my own anyway.
Forgot to say, our first gig is at a socially distanced venue. I think they are restricting the audience to about 50. I would guess that the venue usually holds 200+ Tickets are £12. :-0

We need to stop wearing masks. Get back to normal. Enough is enough. Things are still way too restricted around my neck of the woods. The musicians around here are getting antsy to get back to work.

"We need to stop wearing masks. Get back to normal."
sure everyone's antsy to get back to work but the only way we'll be able to get back to normal IS by wearing masks and getting your shot.

Can't do anything for more than a 1/2 hour in a mask. Definitely can't sing in a mask...even if I could sing.

So after being back at our regular gig the last 7 weeks the city health inspectors came through and put the kibosh on live music indoors. Hopefully we'll be back outdoors like we were last fall. Drag as things were starting to feel almost normal again. Oh well...

That sucks Mr. Guy
So far, the covid police have been pleased with our efforts to play by the rules. I have a whopping five shifts this month.

Covid restrictions in MA are totally lifted as of yesterday! I played three wedding gigs last weekend (none this weekend as the two clients had moved their weddings to the fall). Two gigs per weekend in the books for June....
My wife says that I'm in a better mood these days..... go figure.

We just got as gig for this Fri 06/04 for a place that I was VERY concerned would not survive the lockdowns. Nice little pub with good food - kind of our home base the last couple years. I think take-out kept them going, thank goodness. So psyched to get playing again. We've been practicing for a few weeks now (Massachusetts) and IMO we're not quite ready but LET'S GO !!! I had thought that it would take people a while to want, or feel safe, to go out again, but based on FB response to the event I created, the line will be out the door.

I’ve been averaging 2-3 gigs a month since the beginning of January. Playing a 3 hour show tonight.

Yes, we've been noticing earlier starting times, 3 hrs instead of 3.5 or 4, so far pay is the same.

So far this year, Jan - Dec, 89 gigs on the books. Most are acoustic duo or trio, but there are 5 band gigs in there as well. I'm going to try to cut back next year.
