My internet cable service to my cable modem/router has been on the blink for the past couple of days and signal strength has been deteriorating lately. I just upgraded the cable modem/router last summer and replaced the 26 year old coax from the box to the wall outlet. About 90’. That solved our connectivity issues until recently. The cable company wants to blame the issues on my modem because they don’t own it. I didn’t think so, so I just thought about it for awhile and the only thing I didn’t replace last summer was the wall plate/connector. Can those things wear out or get corrosion? I don’t know but decided to replace it today and BINGO! Good signal, everything starts working again. Speed test shows good, about half of what they advertise which I have learned is about as good as it gets regardless of how much you pay. Anyway, back connected to the world until the next weak link presents itself!
