Instead of building something new I decided to swap out necks between 2 of my partscasters. This neck used to be on my blingy Thinline build and lately I've been giving that guitar the stink eye. It think it works better, both functionally and aesthetically.

That's pretty cool.

Thanks. I bought the body (Fender Player) loaded, converted it from an H-S-H to H-H with a couple of Stewmac Parson Streets. The neck I bought on sale from Warmoths "in stock", couldn't refuse. Birdseye maple/Ziricote, 59 Roundback, trap inlays, bound fretboard, Gibby conversion scale. I think I'm going to convert the wiring from VVT to VT, maybe some new knobs.

That look really cool! The colors work perfectly together. I have a similar neck on a Tele-shaped thing I made of red cedar; it's a Warmoth 3+3 Gibson scale and it's really comfy.

Side view showing binding. I gotta find some lower profile blingy knobs. I tried some taller Tele like barrel knobs and the trem arm clips them.

Look up "pearl inlay guitar knobs" on Amazon.

Is that some kinda Jeff Beck inspired trem arm?
Never seen one that low to the ground.

Its the one that came with my loaded Player body, don't know if that is stock, but I think it has to go. Even with the regular Strat knobs it barely clears the 2nd tone knob. I plan on rewiring the guitar for 1V 1T and shifting them to the 2nd and 3rd holes. Not sure if I'll order a new PG from Warmoth or just plug the 1st hole with something goofy.

That is really low. Strange! "Not sure if I'll order a new PG from Warmoth or just plug the 1st hole with something goofy." Here's a goofy plug idea: An easy option is a nylon panel plug. 3/8" is the size you need for most control pot holes; measure to be sure. www.amazon.com/Zorfeter-White-Plugs-Plastic-Insert/dp/B08GM45C2T/You can find these in the specialty hardware section of Lowe's and Home Depot. They have black and white in different sizes, and there are other colors available from online vendors.

Here’s an idea for the open hole:

Oh man, that dummy toggle switch story cracks me up and harkens back to a studio session I once did. The "producer" was trying to get something out of me on a well established riff in the tune, kept citing the Layla riff. I moved the riff up the neck, same inversion just visually higher. "That's it!!". 😄
I bought a couple 3/8 plugs, one white nylon as Peegoo suggested, one chrome. We'll see how they look with the 2 pearl domed chrome knobs I ordered.

Here's a tip on the nylon plugs: the white ones are translucent, which means when it's installed, it will appear slightly dark because of the dark cavity beneath. You can prevent this by painting the inside (under the top portion) with some white enamel or even Wite-Out or Liquid Paper. That makes it completely opaque and helps it blend with the white pickguard. See how it looks a little dark?

Here's the string tree. I sliced the base off a 40-cal case, punched out the primer for the screw, and used nut files to cut a string groove into the rim on each side. Works great: This is a Warmoth neck with a vintage Fender decal on it. In the mid-80s Steve at Angela had a bunch of Fender decals and I snapped some up.

Rewired with 1V 1T and settled on a steel cap over the nylon. I think it'll work better with the pearl domed chrome knobs I ordered from GFS. I may just order a chrome switch tip to complete the look. Seems to me that the guitar actually sounds better in this wiring config than 2V 1T. It also gave me the opportunity to route out the hole on the bass side of the neck pickup slot that was causing a slight lift of the pickguard in that area.

Done. Bling knobs and switch tip. I also cut down the trem arm. Works much better with the H-H configuration.
