I haven't seen a vintage guitar thread here yet. I'd be nice to see what other members have, or used to have. Of course, photos would be awesome, but sometimes that's difficult. So, whatcha got? Here's one of mine. An early 1963 Les Paul Junior (SG)

'72 SG Deluxe. Bought at Strings and Things on Cooper in Memphis in mid '70's. Paid $265 with case. I had them replace the Bixby with the stop bar. When I picked it up the tech that worked on the guitar wasn't there and no one knew where the tailpiece was. I was going back the next day but the place burned down that night. The windows were loaded with beautiful old vintage guitars. Sad day. I saved the Deluxe but of course it wasn't old then. I've heard it's not as desirable as other SG's because it's a top loader. Always wanted the Bixby back but would never replace it.

Two mid-60's Hagstrom II's. I love the tone even though there are no tone pot's, only switches. Sounds excellent through my Twin Reverb. Also a 60's Gibson Melody Maker. Jim

I "had" a 1966 blonde Tele maple neck with Bigsby. Freetboard had finger tracks... sadly no more.

1960 Guild M65 hollowbody. It's the size of a Les Paul and does the jazz thing very well. All mahogany, super lightweight and feels almost toy-like, but it's a tone beast. Click to Enlarge

Nothing special, but I still have my first solid body electric from the mid-sixties, namely a "Riviera" that I think was made by Aria. It was about half the price of a Fender Mustang at the time and it was all I could afford no matter how hard I stared at the Strats and Teles at the local store. But it served me well in the bands I played in during high school.
I also have an early 70's Guild Starfire V that sounds great but is in serious need of a neck reset.

How old are we considering vintage? I know this has been a moving target ever since the FDP days back when I joined in 2004.
My oldest guitars are my 1964 Strat and a 1965 Fender Mustang and a 1960s Hofner Beetle bass copy.
I'll see if I can throw together a pic.

Wow, beautiful! What colour blue is the 62? Does your 57 have the original sunburst finish? Do you have a place to crank up that amp?

Hi! Only one right now - a ´68 SG Melody Maker. It came to me as a bit of a "beater" (missing pickguard and pickups, routed for humbuckers...), but it turned out nice with a new guard and a pair of P90´s! [/url] cheers - C.

I have two vintage guitars right now, a Harmony Airplane bridge tenor guitar (late ‘20s/early ‘30s) that my uncle played for many years and a 1959 ES 345 Gibson that a friend and his brother owned going back to ‘62 or so and I have owned for around 30 years now. This is my 345. Attachments:

I feel fortunate to have retained the '65 Jaguar from my youth. In the last fifteen years I've acquired a '57 Telecaster refinish, '63 Jazzmaster, and a '65 Stratocaster. I've posted the Stratocaster previously and the Tele is my icon so the Jag and JM are shown standing in their cases like old west coffin photos. Attachments:

This belonged to an old guy at church that just wanted to see it played again. Mid 50’s Jr, he doesn’t remember the exact year. It was in pieces but I got it glued back together and replaced the tuner buttons and strings, everything else is original. I also have an early 60’s Framus archtop acoustic, can’t find a picture. I’ll take one when I get home if anyone wants to see it. Attachments:

I guess it depends on the definition of vintage. I have a 78 tele, an 84 Guild x500, a 90 Gibson ES 295 and a Gibson J-180.

I remember when you were gifted that rock beast. Great story!

I had a very old Vox semi hollow I ended up parting out, all it was worth, not sure of the year. I have a 1977 Hagstrom Swede & a 1976 Explorer, both bought new, IIRC those are my oldest electrics. I had passed on a 1983 Heritage Modern in 1984 for get this, $450. Also had a 1970's El Degas semi hollow like this, should've never sold it. I paid only $65 for it.

Greg Koch's very first guitar was an El Degas. I think he still has it.

1966 Harmony Bobkat. Likely not worthy of a photo but every time i pick it up, it's like shaking hands with an old friend. My first guitar, bought in 1976 for $40.00.
