I bought a Bluetooth speaker to use with my iPad and for the TV. I have a hard time hearing dialogue on the TV and the iPad sound is poor if you’re not using earphones. Anyway, ran across the Oontz Angle 3 Ultra speaker from Cambridge Soundworks on Amazon so thought I would give it a try. It is a kick-butt little speaker! $39.95. I put it on the lamp table next to my recliner and I can now hear every word and I don’t have to have cans on my head or buds in my ears. It is a very loud speaker at full volume. 14 watts. There is an app for EQ and volume control from your phone and controls on the end of the speaker. Cambridge is known for quality audio equipment so I am hoping this one lasts even though it is made in China.

Excuse my protruding ignoramus ... my flatscreen TV is about 10 years old. How do I pair this to a Bluetooth speaker?

You would need a Bluetooth adapter such as the Oontz Bluetooth adapter which you can find @ TheOontz.com or on Amazon. By the way you can connect another speaker in stereo mode or 3 or more for surround sound all configured with the app. Edit to add, it doesn’t work with the Angle 3 Ultra speaker (4th generation) which is what I have but does work with other models. I use the Bluetooth connectivity built into my Amazon Firestick. Works perfectly with no latency issues.

Anyone else remember when you had to walk over to the TV to change the channel or turn the volume up and down?
Lordy, I'm gettin' old!

Had one of those TV’s in my room as a kid, first “major” purchase with my own money I ever made. I actually changed the position of my bed so I could, with the longest stretch I could muster, nearly falling off the edge, change the channels.

We who remember that ARE old I remember at age 16 my grandmother gave us her old black and white tv. I got the "bright idea" to make a remote control. I took the tuner out and connected 10 ft of wire between it and the tv so I could change channels from my bed. Worked great except the fine tuner no longer fine tuned as the cable length made it inoperative. I thought it was cool but after a while the large tuner became cumbersome so I put it back.

I bet you watched a lot of “Hogan’s Heroes”.
