A recent covid upsurge has forced the cancelation of Canada Day, two jam nights, and one comedy night. That means I am down $1600.00 bucks. I realize that that figure is petty compared to those here who have played their financial cards right. Rats....what will I do? I have lots of nifty gear that I guess I will have to sell off. Sadly, most of the gear I will have to sell will be of no interest to folks here. Oddball stuff like interstage transformers, VU meters, and mic amps. (McCurdy)....high end stuff but not much market value. I am going to mow the lawns, then crack a beer. cheers

In terms of "costs", people mainly talk about the deaths caused by this pandemic.
While those are utterly tragic and devastating without a doubt, the collateral, financial and social damage caused by this hideous ailment is almost incalculable.

I don't even want to think about how much I lost during the pandemic. 2 weeklies and all the private gigs. But we've been back since March and things are almost back to normal...for now.

I'm in NY/NJ area and things are thankfully back to normal. This new variant is a bit scary, but vaccines are well, preventative

Sorry you're going through all of this Roly. I hope things turn around for you and you can get back into doing your thing before being faced with such a decision. Virtual Molson on me.

The entire last year is like a big black hole. Recovery will take a long time, even as it seems we are limping back to "normal." I've got gear I want so sell off as my focus and interests have changed, but in an age of quarantine and lockdown, it was just not possible.
