A Tesla Model S Plaid, billed as the "world's quickest production car," burned to the hubcaps three days after it was delivered to an unidentified new owner in Pennsylvania. The driver, who spoke on the condition that his still smoking hair and eyebrows not be shown on camera, said that he was impressed with his "Plaid". "I mean ... three days from delivery to conflagration... you gotta admit that's world class quick. I don't know if a tanker full of gasoline would have erupted that quick." He went on to say that being trapped inside when the fried electric circuits locked him in the car was a bit unsettling. "Now I know what it's like to be burned at the stake," he joked to reporters. i.postimg.cc/hGcFxYWf/peter.jpgelectrek.co/2021/06/30/tesla-model-s-plaid-caught-fire-strange-circumstances/

Look on the bright side. The fire might have prevented the new owner from a high speed crash while trying the auto pilot feature.

LA Police Department bomb squad had a similar experience. While transporting illegal fireworks to the home of the watch commander, in the bomb truck, for disposal on the evening of July 4th, Leon lit up a cigarette resulting in a big kaaaboom. Woops no more bomb squad vehicle. Message to those planning on attending the July 4 party....it has been canceled.

"Due to prior training classes on Tesla Vehicle Fire emergencies,..."
What?? I guess this is a common occurrence. I wonder if this is covered under warranty.

I think foul play is afoot. It didn't mention the owner inside, but that the car arrived while already engulfed. Insurance fraud?
