We've all seen or heard about the "miracle" devices or teas or whatever, that allow us to effortlessly exercise or lose weight while we sleep or watch "Jeopardy." Nonsense for the most part, right? Well, there actually is a class of device that improves breathing and significantly lowers blood pressure ....... while you watch TV. It's called High-Resistance Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training (IMST), which is basically breathing in and out against resistance. 30 high intensity inhalations per day, yield the same benefits of a brisk 30 minute walk 5 days a week, including a drop in blood pressure. "The participants were made to perform 30 inhalations per day with an IMST device, six days a week, over a six-week period. Assessing the subjects after six weeks showed a sharp decline in systolic blood pressure among the high-resistance group, amounting to a nine-point decline on average. The scientists say this exceeds the type of decline you'd expect from walking 30 minutes a day, five days a week, and is equal to the decline you could expect from some drug treatments to lower blood pressure." www.news-medical.net/news/20210630/Strength-training-for-breathing-muscles-lowers-blood-pressure-improves-vascular-health.aspxNote: the resistance breathing devices are available on Amazon

I wonder what the negitive pressure requirements are. Sounds like you could make the device with a piece of PVC, a rubber band and a clean sock.
