maybe a week ago, I would get a critical system crash notice, and the computer would shutdown, then restart. It was a real pain in the arse, since I'd been pretty happy with my Win10 installation since I installed it years ago. The event viewer had indecipherable messages and error codes, including system process not being able find a file.
It would happen at random points, sometimes after an hour, sometime several. There is no predictability as to trigger, even happened if I was not on the PC. There are some references to it on the web, since March or so, probably wrapped up in an update download. I did find a relatively new update on the MS site, and (fingers crossed) haven't gone down for 18 hours.
ANYONE ELSE HAVING A PROBLEM? Chime in ...

No crashes for me since Win95. My Windows 10 Pro just updated earlier this week; seems O.K.
PS - Your symptoms sound similar to those with failing power supplies. Also, overheating: Are the fan(s) inside the case still working? I like to open my case up once a year or so and blow all components out (esp. CPU) with can of pressurized air in one hand, and a vacuum hose in the other; prevents overheating due to dust buildup.

I saw it multiple times about 3 years or so ago. Adjustment to Bios Settings for the Builtin Video "card" corrected that one.

although, after the latest update 48 hours ago, I haven't had a crash. (fingers crossed)
this of course, does not consider any temperature variations...
