Richard Branson and five intrepid companions are back on terra firma, following their successful elevator ride to the top of Ghost Mountain at Knott's Berry Farm. Mr. Branson had paid the Knott family to clear the park for the day on Sunday, so that all eyes would be on him and his uncontainable ego. "It was magical, "said Branson, "when we went into free fall from the top, a wad of chewing gum floated up in front of my face, and stayed there for the whole descent." He added that he can now call himself an astronaut. "After all, I'm a billionaire ... I can call myself the Tooth Fairy if I want." Reporters had noted that he was chewing gum during his short press conference, but no one was sure if he had snagged that elevator "space gum" or if it was a wad of Bazooka that he brought from home. Jeff Bezos (aka Cueball) is slated to fire up his rocket powered elevator, the Prime Hair Ball, in just a few days. He told reporters, "my rocket runs on shredded hundred dollar bills, something that Richard Branson wishes he could say. So, nanner, nanner." www.cnn.com/2021/07/11/tech/richard-branson-virgin-galactic-space-flight-scn/index.html

A P.R. debacle.
He should have known better.
Him and Bezos. They deserve each other.

Fact is, most of the cost for developing Rutan's fabulous air carrier and spaceship was paid for by Microsoft billionaire, Paul Allen (R.I.P.).
I think it's a cool thing and I'd love to go for the ride!

Cracks me up this. He was over in the UK a year ago pleading poverty and begging for 500million to keep Virgin Air afloat but he still seemingly has enough money to build a space ship. Maybe there is a connection somewhere here?.
