Back around sixty years ago this shop was across the street from my present home and, right around that time, I worked in a metal plating shop where I had a hand in re-chroming parts on the Gary Cooper car. Joe was a wizard at keeping these great cars alive. I remember him having a Cord Phaeton near the end of his life and calling to come and look at an early Harley frame (think it was a 1912). Here’s Joe.

I've been up in Manitowoc visiting the shipyard and Maritime Museum. Made for an interesting day! Did not know about this Hollywood connection. www.wisconsinmaritime.org

Cool Post. Working in a metal plating shop is no picnic -- especially back then. I'm glad you made it out.
Those old cars are gorgeous -- absolutely works of art.
