if there were any notes on it below the 12th fret that I have never played.
So I thought through the songs I have played with the various groups and the only two I don't think I have ever played are F# and C# at the eleventh fret.
how about you ?

I believe the bass line in Layla, at the F#m in the last line of the chorus, has the F# and C# notes at the 11th fret.

I was checking the neck for fret wear when I thought about it.
I will have to have a look at the repetoire and see if I can squeeze in a run up that high !

You'll find some in there somewhere.
Just in case the repertoire didn't provide any. 😏

I can't imagine I’ve missed any of them on the Framus (1965) or P bass (1981), my two oldest, coincidentally I had both of them out yesterday. Some of the others I probably have missed a fret or two. I know I haven’t on the Ibanez acoustic bass, no cutaway, there are 4 or 5 frets I can’t conveniently reach.
One of my exercises is running all of the four finger permutation all the way up the neck as fast as I can, one at time on each string.
Ya never heard their “Ain’t no money above the 5th fret”? “o)

LOL so I'm not the only one who has wondered about this?! My answer used to be the 1st fret Ab on my G string. Not much call for that in rock songs, but since joining my church band, I play it a lot, so I think I've hit them all. I can credit my rock band playing REM's 'Radio Free Europe" for finally hitting some of the higher frets/notes.

I think I play both notes in "Sweet Child O' Mine"... and I have played Radio Free Europe, too!

It was probably covering “Come Together” that got me playing that far up the neck.
