Not stage fright, vibrato. It really does take some discipline keeping them nervous fingers in check and not having that solo sound like you're playing through a fan. Relax, man.
I'm arranging a tune with the intent of a Mark Knopfler/Brother's in Arms approach. Got the patch mostly worked out in my Avid Rack, neck pickup Goldtop, no pick.
Man, I'm rusty. Some of that articulation just requires light brush strokes from the right hand thumb and forefinger.
It really takes concentration to hold back the Grace Slick delivery.

I can relate. When I get rusty from not playing everyday the first thing that goes away is the light touch on my pick or fingers. I have noticed that my left hand is trying to squeeze the juice out of the neck as well. If I make a conscious effort to relax the death grip on the neck the picking will usually fall into place and fluidity returns.
