RIP. Was on the old place from around 2000 and jhawkr was always knowledgeable and respectful.
One of the good guys for sure. Best wishes to friends and family.

Thanks for your steadfast company, Jim.
Prayers for the family as they grieve. And I’d bet there is also a celebration of his life. 😊

RIP Jim! It's good to see that some here got to meet him, jam with him, even get to know him in person. I never had that honor but he did have a big influence on me here.

Sincerest condolences and prayers for peace and comfort for his family.
Like the rest of y'all, I always appreciated his posts here and on the old FDP. May he rest in eternal peace.
Or better yet, may he play whatever instrument, harp or whatever other instrument in he gets to play, in heaven.

When my bride lectures about cinema and storytelling, she talks about when the best stories get to the point where the protagonist has only two choices, and both of them are bad.
I went though that with both my mom and dad. In the end, there was no choosing for me -- but the end of each of their lives was a blessing when looking at the alternative.
I certainly do not know anything more about Jhawkr than what has been shared here, but it sounds like he was in a similar situation.
Death in these cases can bring peace for the departed and some closure for the family.
It is certainly not the happy ending, but maybe it was the best ending that was out there.
RIP.

I always admired jhawkr's sensibilities as well as his contrasting king of GAS, lol. I'm doubting there were many members who amassed as much gear as he did over the years.
I believe he was also one of the very first registered members at the FDP. Rock on Jim.
