What skills don't you have that you would like to have?
Cutting diamonds?

Well, I wish I played guitar better.
Other than that, I'd like to know how to weld.

I wish I had a like for visual art. My wife is very into it but I can't relate to it on any level. I can appreciate someone's ability to do it and do it well but it's not something that appeals or interests me. I would like to be able to get the same enjoyment from it that she does so I could have a good time investigating it with her but it just doesn't click for me. That bothers me sometimes. I have tried to get interested in it but I just don't ever get it.

I’d like better woodworking skills.
That’s also part of my retirement plan.

I've always wished I had a better voice. This! After more than 40 years of playing guitar, I'm still no better than a beginner without theory and scale training. That doesn't really bother me, but the fact that I like to sing but my voice is terrible really sucks! I seriously don't have an ear for music, and I mean not at all. That said, I would feel more competent (and accomplished) as a guitar player if I had a decent singing voice. To me, some nobody with a decent voice strumming cowboy chords and singing songs that I like is FAR more entertaining than Joe Shredder showing off his fretboard acrobatics and playing a million notes per minute.

Singing. I'm terrible at it. Dancing. I've done ballroom dancing lessons, etc., but it just does nothing for me. I see other people dancing and having a blast, and I'd like to get into THAT zone. But like the so-called runner's high, the joy of dancing eludes me like Bigfoot and UFOs. "Welding." If you're interested in The Metal Hot Glue Gun, the best way to get into it is a cheap stick welder. Harbor Fright, etc., sells serviceable home-gamer stuff that will get you up and running really fast. For about $200 you can be racing. Pay attention to the necessary voltage because 220v is standard (you need a specific outlet for it). There are also 110v machines that work great, but generally they use 3/32" rods and will weld only up to 1/4" steel if you take your time. Find some junk/scrap steel and have at it. Check out 'how to' vids, especially Jody on U-Toob's Welding Tips and Tricks, and also Weld Dot Com's channel. A really good way to get going, once you get the welder, helmet, gloves, and sticks, is to invite over a pal that does this stuff to show you the basics. Beer and pizza after! There are things you cannot really get from videos that a live demonstration can provide. Here's a pretty good intro to stick:
