These little 00s were kind of a cool project back around '03 on the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum. The members were polled about what they would want in a Martin, the results were tabulated, and Martin built around 200 of them.
It's a 12-fret slot head with mahogany b/s. Came in natural or ambertone. I'm hoping for an ambertone in at least VG condition. EXC would be even better.
A long shot, I know, but maybe one of you guys will spot one on your local Craigslist or something. Or maybe you've forgotten about the one under your bed. Give me a shout if you do.
Thanks, Ragtop

Hey, thanks, Vman. I've talked to the owner of this one. He said it's in "player's condition." I'm hoping for one in amberburst and EXC condition.
He says on Reverb that it is EXC, but what I think he meant is that it is in EXC condition for its age. But I might look at it again if I can't find another. Plus his price is too high, needs to come down a bit.
Thanks for letting me know, though!

A favorite of mine and, like you, have been looking for a "Cherry" . so far, no luck.
I would consider the 000 version even the 0 which has the 1 7/8ths nut width.
Have you checked UMGF in "for sale"

jefe, I posted a "WTB" ad on the UMGF and it worked! I was contacted by a guy from Brooklyn who owns #9. We talked back and forth a bit, and I bought it. No bargain, I paid top dollar for it, but that's okay.
It's not ambertone, but that's okay too. It appears to be in really nice condition. Unmolested too, no funky pickup and no pickguard either. I'll have a Holter p/g made for it, OM style.
He ships it today, I should have it by the end of the week. Will post a couple of photos.

"Sounds" really cool, Ragtop. Has it arrived? Maybe you haven't stopped playing it long enough to take pics?

mikey, it has arrived, condition is great. Zero fret wear. Plays just right. Big fat neck. It's got that Martin mahogany tone in spades. I'm very happy with it. Very happy. I tried to post a picture the other day, couldn't figure it out (I've never posted pics here before). Maybe I'll try again later.

Nice guitar, the 00s are one of my favorite sizes.
I purchased a OO-15 back in the mid. 90s, it actually ambushed me. I walked by it and strummed the strings as I did, the volume increased as I walked away. Turned around and played it. I was really surprised by the tone. I had the salesman pull out every one he had and we played them back and forth at each other. All of these sounded great, I walked away but it haunted me, I went back a few days later, it was still their and I got a no interest short term financing and took it home.
I’ll probably keep this 0015, I have a 00015s that I my someday sell, but for now these are my two favorite steel string guitars. I purchased the 00015s used off the UMGF soon after the 0015 was paid off. The 00015s was mess, it was seriously anemic, weak tone, just nasty. I was freaking out a bit. Cooled off and put it on my bench, Martin would never passed quality control, took all the strings off to clean it and check out all the braces and everything else I could think of. During this inspection and cleaning thee bridge fell out. He had mentioned he had it “boned”. Whew, I cut a new one fitted it, adjusted it’s hight and strung it up. Another great Martin, I paid $400 for it.
I called the guy and told him the instrument was misrepresented, he asked if I wanted to send it back, I said no, I told him that he may want to find a new luthier and told him about the lame fitting of the bridge. I offered to send it back to him including the shipping I paid and he would pay for it’s return. He told me to keep it.

I tried to post a picture the other day, couldn't figure it out (I've never posted pics here before). Maybe I'll try again later. I think you have to post a link to a separate photo hosting site; there's no way to post pics directly here (that I'm aware of; someone else may come along and make a liar out of me!). This "feature" of this new site has kept me from posting pics here as well... I'm just no longer keeping any of my pics stored at an online photo hosting site.

Try this, mikey- go to the last post in this thread, and there it is. The UMGF has a whole chat room devoted to this guitar. It's in the shop right now, getting a K&K installed. If the shop guy will stop playing it and get to work on it, that is. He loves it. umgf.com/who-s-received-theirs-and-which-number-t4562-s100.html

Wow - beautiful little guitar! Love the mahogany on the back of that thing! Enjoy it (I'm sure you are).
